So you are about 60 hours in and then all of a sudden you hate your rpg character.....what the flip do you do???
You cant restart and play all of that again.

Case in point - Im trying to finally get to the bottom of Dragon age Origins and end the blight, I am 60 hours in. My character is a Daleish Elf who specialise in dual weaponry combat he is quite proficient with his twin blades but I hate him. It sucks to look at him. He is so tiny and his face is reminiscent of Liv Tylers. Its just horrendous.

So what do I do now? I guess I just have to learn to get along with him.

I've restarted after multiple hours many times. It's my only option available.

You mod your game, unless ofcourse you are playing on a console.

lol noob pc gamer ;p

You only realized your character was ugly after 60 hours? Well if it's any consolation, you won't have to play as him in DA 2, and you can change your character's appearance by giving EA your money (The Black Emporium DLC) if you somehow manage to screw that one up too.

Pity actually... they redesigned the elves in DA 2 so they're all butt-ugly. He would have fit right in. :)

Luckily, the MMORPG I play has reincarnation so any balls up - just hit lvl and start afresh :D

I know what you mean though, so so many ugly or useless RPG toons I had back in the day.

same thing happened to be with DA. I tried to get back into it by restarting as Rogue, but i actually preferred the original MAGE build.

I played DAI for around 40 hours with a mage build 'til I realised that I did not like being stuck in one position while attacking (yes, it took me 40 hours to realise this), I subsequently made a rogue build (with a character that looks like a real person, IMO).

The freedom of movement while engaging in combat is more immersive for me. Had initially made a number of builds spending some hours with each before I stuck with my current character. According to Origin I have 200 or so hours invested; have been using my current character for 80+ of those 200.

I normally sit and just look at my toons for the first couple minutes, running/jumping/sitting all the normal activities to ensure i will be happy ...

:P but then again i get lost in character creation and am normally quite satisfied I created someone i like to look at

It's a single player offline game right? So you could use a "trainer" to change your skills and stats, if there are trainers available for Dragon Age.

Hmm, can't say I've ever hated my RPG character...I mean, I mold him or her into the perfect character that I want, so surely you know right away if you like or dislike them?

I can't say I've ever hated my character. I spend a lot of time during character creation to ensure that never happens. If the gameplay is the problem, that isn't my character's fault :D

Multiple characters is something I really struggle with, actually. I feel like I'm "cheating" on my main and spend 99% of the time playing my main as a result :wtf:

So when I finished Fallout 3 with my character, I immediately created a new character and replayed it again. Did the same with Oblivion, Skyrim, etc etc etc. Very seldom (barring Mass Effect) have I replayed an entire title with the same character.
