Geralt's beard will grow as you play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt Red has confirmed.

Originally spotted in a Gamestar interview (via NeoGAF), a throwaway question suggested our hero's beard would lengthen as the game progressed. Following this news, we reached out to CD Projekt Red to find out more.

"The beard grows as time passes and when Geralt moves between locations," we were told. "The beard has several “states” and these states determine its length – the longest is realy long but it’s not Gandalf-long. When you download the free Beard and Hairstyle DLC the growth of the beard will stop because we decided that when players want a predefined look, it would be weird to require from them to reapply it time after time."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on May 19 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The game will include 16 free DLC packages across all platforms. Not to be a stick in the mud... but this kind of novelty will wear off eventually.

At first I was: "That sounds awesome", then I asked myself "Why does it sound awesome?". No answer was presented. :D

it will probably only look good in cut scenes cause most of the time you'll just see the back of his head during gameplay

If there is fast travel and you keep traveling back and forth between locations, will his beard grow at a rapid rate, thus eliminating having to wait for growth? :rolleyes:
 
I really can't wait for this, when the first Witcher was shown on NAG I believe I was so amped that intro song by Vader had me...

It truly was a good game, too bad I played the baddy :P

I wish the guys who make The Witcher and the guys who make Kingdom Come deliverence join forces and make an MMO or at least a multiplayer RPG ( but the world should be interactive) and you can attack other witchers.

But until that day comes the Witcher 3 will give my pc a run for it's money until I win that GPU haha
