Bloodborne: is it the best game ever made?

I got my game yesterday and I love it,just make sure to download the patch.Hopefully from can shorten the load times and fix the frame pacing issue as soon as possible.

For now... I sense a PC port on the way...

Also, Amazon France (the notorious Amazon leaker) listed a PC version a few days ago. It could be a mistaken listing or it could be a sign.

I think that would be a mistake. I doubt they would ever release it on any other platform!

I agree. Demon's Souls maintained its PS exclusivity. Dark Souls went all over the show, but i suspect that BB will be PS4 only. I have my copy and i have my ps4, but we getting load shedding tonight :(

I am a Souls fan, yes! I have played through Demon's Souls , Dark Souls (two copies), Dark Souls 2 (two copies). I have spent hundreds of hours in each of these titles; I have watched through countless hours of videos on gameplay, lore, speed runs, story, in depth, etc.
And as you can probably tell, I get quite excited just talking about it. Sure it may still be very early days and I haven't really put in any hours (yet) into Bloodborne, but from what I have played is that this is what any 'Souls game could have and should have been. Bloodborne is the epitome of the Souls esque franchise. They have defined a genre and play style. What you have to realize is that the Souls games have one of the biggest communities on the interwebs and as such this title will be held with very high regard!

*I don't claim to be the best or know everything about the 'Souls series, but I consider myself to know enough. This is my passion in gaming!

Hey BeoTek,

So, how's Bloodborne going?

Along with the repackaged Borderlands, it is a title I am keen on getting. Would you strongly recommend it?

I am quite underwhelmed by the next gen-machines. This Bloodborne does not look impressive. I guess you have to play it but all the vids make it look quite boring.......and extremely difficult - so basically Dark Souls. Its been done.

The last games to completely floor me were Skyrim and GTA IV when they were released. When you look at the screen and you cant actually believe it, games that evoke emotions and a sense of wonder when you first play them. Ive experienced nothing of this with the new consoles.
I guess my expectations have been too high, those kinds of games are still coming. Otherwise Im just a jaded grumpy old dude.

I would highly recommend it. The replayability is outstanding and the sheer content and expansiveness of the world mixed with variety of attacks, weapons, armor, builds/stats and to throw in different mixes of character building for PvE and PvP. The game is immense! If you have played a Souls title before, there'll be a little adjustment. But if you're completely new it will hit you like a truck. This game does not hold your hand. See this post. Some people can't even figure out how to equip weapons.

And actually quite a good talk from a new comers perspective.

The best review I've read http://www.thejimquisition.com/2015/03/bloodborne-review-die-die-again/

The game does look epic, and I am keen for a challenging title that will take some time to complete.

I have read about frame rate issues with the game - are you experiencing any? And does it hurt the game?

The game has had it's fair share of frame rate drops though nothing too distracting or game breaking, it doesn't hamper the playing experience or cause you to fall to you death because of it. If anything it's a few frames, I would say as much as 10 if that. But it's something I can live with and to be honest, what's a FromSoft game without a few frame drops.

And before you ask about the loading screens and times; they do average around 30 to 40 seconds. At first this may seem like an issue when reading it and experiencing your first tribulations, but believe me, they serve as a breather later on. The loading times don't really bother me in the least.

Ha ha - thanks man. Appreciate the feedback. I think I shall be buying this very soon.
