Fifa 2010 demo is out.

I take it at least Cape Town Stadium (yes, Greenpoint is going :p), Soccer City and Moses Mabhida make an appearance in the game?

I am unsure since I stopped caring for fifa 2010 when I found out the pc version will again not be next gen. But I presume those stadiums will only be in the official fifa wc 2010 game. There will be two games released next year be EA one for only the wc and then fifa 2011 a few months afterwards. Nothing beats milking the football fans in a wc year.;)

Ah OK. I've never understood sports games hence me not knowing anything about them :p

If I could don a sword and a few spells IRL I would instead of doing it virtually :D

Ill wait for the full version, nothing annoys me more than only being able to play with two teams and until half time.

Is EA still using the excuse that they use a PS2 port of Fifa for PC because of hard requirements like they did last year? Because seriously, it's a football game how demanding can it be? A buddy plays PES2009 on his mom's ancient PC with onboard graphics and it's fine.

They claim that only 5% of their market could run the game the xbox 360 port. Nobody believes them since they compete for the same market as pes but pes is able to offer the exact same version whether its console or pc.

Instead of trying to aim for the lowest common denominator in terms of hardware in order to increase potential customer base and therefore increase potential sales, why not rather provide a superior product to increase potential sales.

Because if the used the 360 port, far too many fans would not be able to run the game. Sports games are usally aimed at sports fans, not core gamers. Most sports fans don't have top of the range pcs. Thus EA make more sales by using the PS2 port for pc.

You would have a point if their direct competition did the same but that's not the case. The difference here is this Konami who produces the pro evolution soccer game actually produces a scalable engine. EA Sports since Peter Moores took over has basically abandonment the pc market. He scrapped all their sports titles that used to come to pc except for fifa and gave the pc gamers a very poor version.

Go to the ea uk forums and you will that basicly 90% of the thread under the pc section is fans being totally disgusted at the situation.

I agree that a scalable engine would be best for gamers, but it might not make economic sense.

I think that most sports fans are quite happy to use a console to play their sports games.

Pro Evolution has a huge pc following due to its modding community.:)
