So my dad has an Asus K52Jc Laptop and the thing only has 2GB RAM which gets filled rather quickly and then the laptop becomes unbearably slow. My dad might just put the laptop in flight mode if this keeps going for long.
My dad has taken the laptop somewhere to ugprade the RAM, but each time they put in new RAM, the laptop failed to start/boot. They then told him it is because the current RAM stick has 16 chips on it, and the new ones only 8. At first I thought this was BS but I have since learned something new. Apparently some PC's/Laptops won't work with high density RAM and only want low density RAM (I thought the problem might be voltage on the RAM, but it's not, as the motherboard in the laptop supports up to 1.5V).
So, my question is, where will I find low density RAM so I can upgrade the RAM in the laptop? I don't want to buy RAM online and then it won't work in the laptop when I get it. I wen't to the local ComputerMania to check all the DDR3 RAM stick they had, but none of them worked.
I already checked, the laptop supports a maximum of 8GB RAM at 1333MHz.
The Joker do you perhaps know where I can find some compatible RAM? From Crucial's website http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-memory-for/ASUS/k52jc#memoryResults the following sticks have been tested and confirmed to work with this specific laptop.
Any help will be appreciated.
TL;DR Need low density 1333MHz DDR3 RAM for a laptop.
