Hell's yeah!

The only unknown at this point is whether the pc port is going to be any good with regard to the netcode. Apparently MK9's netcode was atrocious and caused big problems with Steam multiplayer. If that stuff is sorted then I don't think the PC version is going to be any different from the console versions.

MULTIPLAYER
In the dozens of matches of Mortal Kombat X that I've played online (via a wi-fi connection), I've experienced a wide variety of technical performance. Some early matches felt a bit sluggish, while others had a handful of full-second delays in action as the networking code caught up. But recently, the game's online performance has seemed solid; I've experienced a few fights that felt almost indistinguishable from offline fights. We'll be keeping an eye on the game's online performance at launch.

An online component of the game we haven't spent much time with is Faction Wars, the persistent meta-game. With Faction Wars, players can join one of five groups, and simply by playing the game both in single-player and online multiplayer, contribute to that group's global standing. Virtually everything a player does in Mortal Kombat X contributes to their faction in some way, adding experience points to the overall pool. Players will be rewarded faction-specific rewards if their chosen group is at the top of the global weekly ranking, but we haven't experienced those rewards ourselves or seen what material benefit they'll have. It also remains to be seen if the Lin Kuei (Sub-Zero's group) will ever not be the game's dominant faction, as it's currently the faction most players seem to have aligned themselves with.

K. Well it looks like there is something wrong with the pre-load so no one can play on Steam The reviews are looking horrendous as a result. Sigh.

Yeah pretty terrible launch. From what I can see, they're using some new streaming method to download the game while you play, and it appears to be completely broken. This very well might be Steam's fault though, but who knows. Guess it's just as well I haven't gotten my keys yet.

I'm sure we'll get an answer when the devs in the USA wake up to bazillion twitter messages, hatemail and Steam reviews saying that the game is worse than Hitler giving everyone terminal cancer.

I'm still waiting for my delivery from Kalahari :(

I'm not even sure it's going to arrive today...

I just got mine so im sure yours will arrive today :D Was supposed to come with an MK Beanie, which apparently will be sent at a later stage... Think the Beanies were what delayed the game initially and they probably still haven't arrived so they shipped the games without them, which is pretty decent of Kalahari imo...

Eugene, I just got my Kombat Pack pre-purchase code from GMG, so I reckon that you should be getting your game code soon too...

Ja, it's a real pity that one of the worst launches in recent memory is putting a damper on the sentiment surrounding the game.

If i were in their predicament i would rather wait for the whole thing to download...

I mean lets be real...

Blizzard does this but who actually plays when "Playable" and not fully downloaded?

HAHA! Exactly! I've never launched the game until it's fully downloaded. I think the problem here is that the new updates are being performed in-game so there isn't anyway around it.

:wtf: I was just having this same conversation with BeoTeK. I wonder if anyone likes that kind of system. Certainly no one with our kind of bandwidth.

I've had one experience of playing a game that was still downloading in the background and that was Forza 5. Problem with doing it this way is that you are never sure of what has and what hasn't been downloaded so you end up in a scenario like I had where some tracks were playable but not the cars, and as such you had some artifact that weren't rendered. So you had what looked like a model car racing around the track, with no textures. I think DieGrootHammer had the same problem, was worth a laugh at least :P

But yeah, terrible idea. Unless you have a 1gbps pipe to your home or something ridiculous.
