Severe Toothache

ugh...I despise tooth ache more than all other kinds of pain put together. Had worse pain, but somehow its *different*.

Yeah unless you have access to more powerful painkiller you'll have to stick to the usual aspirin etc. (Just take care with dosage)

And yes...that is unfortunately going to end in a root canal.

The salt water does nothing for me man, interestingly enough though, the spit thing actually helps a little thanks!

Getting time off work to see a dentist earlier is also a problem as I already took yesterday off because I couldn't work with the amount of pain I was in and the company won't let me take more time off without a doctor's letter. I already have Friday off so that works out, if I can only make it until then.

I am actually going to see my GP after work to see if he can't give me an injection or a prescription or something to help with the pain. At least I can pay him later since he's been my doctor for most of my life so he's cool with that.

Dentists can also give 'doctors letters'.
What did your GP say/do?
Have you considered going to a public dental clinic? They'll most likely pull the tooth out though..

He couldn't see me last night afterall, but I do have an appointment to go see him at 12:00 today. Depending on what he says/does I might end up going to a public dental clinic. I don't care if they pull the tooth, I just want the pain to stop.

Just came back from the Dr. He gave me an injection for the pain and also gave me a prescription for some heavy duty painkillers. He also booked me off for the rest of the week. He took a quick look and said he doesn't think there is an abscess and the painkillers should see me through to Friday but that I should try to go to the dentist sooner. I'm gonna see if I can't move my appointment to either tomorrow or at least Thursday.
