Haha yes I'm a Batman fan but I like Superman too. Man, I can't wait for this movie! :D (leave the XBox alone. :p)

hahaha... I've never been a Superman fan tbh
I've just found the Batman movies to resonate with me better than the Superman ones (along with comics). I've always kinda seen Superman as a bit of a pissy boy, crying about this or that.

Never been a Superman fan but I thought MoS was a pretty incredible film when I watched it in cinema so am quite looking forward to this as well now.

Solitude , Yup, you are very correct, this needs a thread.

So I take it, this movie is like a build up to sometime when they make up and work along each other? I honestly dont want to go watch the movie if its going to end in a dark soapie melodrama about to guys fighting each other in a city destroying special effects fest, like the last Superman movie going on and on.

They are both good guys, even though I like Superman better, Batman is great too. I loooooooved this 20-30 minute cartoons you they used to air years back. Even got them for my son.

One thing I find most ppl disagree with me, even my own wife, I never liked the original Batman movies, they just felt so awkward to watch. The last three by Nolan were awesome.

The first Superman movies were great though, same with Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, I liked it. The last one....not so much.

I regret not staying with comics, when I started primary school I used to read them, but lost track and never really got back into them. Miss all the lore and history behind hero characters.

#TeamSuperman

Always been a big fan of ol' Supes since I can remember. The very first comic book I got to pick out myself was Superman. I was about 6 if I recall correctly. Admittedly my knowledge of the lore is lacking severely, but I can't help loving the oke. I'm also probably one of the very few people that liked, in fact LOVED the last Superman movie, and I cannot wait for this one to come out. 2016 is so far still

I'm not sided towards either of them. They both battle for the good of mankind, however (yeah, you saw this coming), because of the Arkham titles I'm sided toward "the Bat".

I've gotta say something about this:

Batman uses his wits and finely trained martial arts skills to selflessly fight against forces that are physically and/or intellectually more powerful than he is. He is mortal and puts his life in danger for the people in his city and the rest of the world. He shows true bravery through this and through his unwavering dedication to his responsibility as a super hero.

Superman is an invulnerable demi-god that can do whatever he wants to most of the villains that are not even a close match to his physical abilities. The (clearly intellectually superior) villains he fights against have to try really, really hard to weaken him in any way, to a point that you have to respect their dedication to what they are doing. Superman never needs to be brave because very little can hurt him, he risks very little doing what he does and I suspect the only reason that he hasn't taken over Earth One is because his only true, endearing super power is his self-restraint. I think this is the antithesis of what a super hero should be.

Batman all the way.

I am SUPER (haha) excite.

Anyway, another comic people might want to see that has the world's finest going at it again.

Right on the money. I love Hush. Anyway, should you and I just have a bit of a rough and tumble and just put all these theories to rest?

For those who don't know, Batman can and will kill the entire DC Universe. There's a whole book about it.

Here's the animated movie based on The Tower of Babel (seriously folks, check it out :D).

I don't know about a rough and tumble :p, but I once said this to Snare, the whole Bats vs Supes debate is really a thought experiment that really could swing either way but it really comes to a battle of two superheroes who happen to be best friends and happen to know each other better than any other superhero or villain. Any generic "who would win in a fight?" argument ignores the character traits that make them who they are. So that raises the question of what the terms and condition of the fight are, has supes gone rogue (a reason Bats has contingencies for him)? Has bats gone rogue? Is Supes going all out (in Hush mind control plays a role so he's holding back, noted by bats himself and even there with a Kryptonite ring he mentions that the last punch he dishes out could break his own bones)? Is Bats going all out (Looking at Tower of Babel, he could very indeed neutralize the entirety of the JL)? The list goes on and includes scenarios that ignore their characters completely (not powers or strengths).

But because I'm all about canon, I'll say this Supes could take down Bats if he was a different character with different motivations, but he isn't, and Bats isn't a different character. It really all boils down to this quote from Bats in the Hush storyline, "I know that Superman could squash me like bug. But I know he won't. Because deep down Clark is a good person. And deep down I'm not."

So Superman has the capability to take down Bats but he never will, whereas Bats doesn't have the same inhibitions.

Which is a moot point since nobody ever stays dead in soaps and comics.

A valid point.

Music to my ears. I love me some comic quotes.

I like this argument of yours. There have been many takes on this story and the outcomes are always non-conclusive or out of canon, because this probably will never happen. The character traits are just too prominent. I'm in favour of both of them...but that Batman, hey. :D

Batman is a cool and all, but man, that Superman guy? Pretty amazing :p
