Where did you get your online Nic?

Star Trek.

You sure you don't have your sci-fi series mixed up?

Anyway, my handle that I use here and pretty much everywhere else is a direct Norwegian translation of a name I used many moons ago on a small, elitist Scandinavian metal forum. I used to be PerilousBehaviour, but after being adopted by the community I became an honorary Nord and my name was translated. I often masquerade under Farlig-K as well, but it's a very very very inside joke on that forum that nobody will understand.

My avatar is also the album cover of one of my favourite Swedish Death Metal bands, whose members were also on that forum. Very nice guys, I can tell you that much!

Oltman -I saw it in my ID book and thought it was pretty rad. Also, I remember people always call me that. So I figured it is pretty cool. What makes it cooler is everyone thinks it is a nickname.

I used to play some oldschool top down online space shooter (flipping name escapes me) in the 90's, and called myself ACowYesACow... So it would always show up on the live scoreboard that Eugene was shot by ACowYesACow. It became old really fast.

Mine, well loved my Archie comics. So when I was with mates I used Archie( this was done when I was real young) to which my friends told me I cant I use a trade mark name ,so I added the Choke in the end. Which ended up being a fun one with it being close to Artichoke.

It just makes me think of archie, betty and veronica doing some auto-erotic asphyxiation :p

Lets see, Wyvren was the original spelling of my nick since about 1994ish (IRC days). It was a misspelling that I decided to keep at that point since I was to lazy to register my nick under the correct spelling. Since then have been using variations of Wyv, Wyvren and so forth for all my online and gaming personalities.

The year was 1999. The internet was still mostly an undiscovered world to me and I was just introduced to the LANing thing. I just started my first job and was on graveyard shift, driving home at about 00:30 in the morning after a rather uneventful shift. Then it came to me: DarkStar. Probably because it was dark... and I saw a star...

Honestly, I don't rely know where it came from, but it's not from the skateboard brand, or the band, or the 1970s movie, or the unmanned spy plane. It just sounded cool at the time.

Just a nickname based on my real name. A lot of people assume it has something to do with "scimitar"; it doesn't.

I used to be registered here under a different name, but I forgot the name/password combo at the time and created this. I usually register as either Kimmykae or KimberlyK on forums, so was fairly sure it was one of those. Turns out it was Whisper, which I only ever used on a US forum I used to write for, so it's odd that I used it here, as opposed to something more traditional (some variation of my real name), which explains why I forgot it, I guess.

You're Whisper? Oh shit.

Sure it's been told here before but mine is a combination of the Mephistopheles from literature and DNA's double helix. The meaning behind it is that no matter who we are, we all have the capacity for evil. Simple right :p

It's only my 3rd username since I started using the net in the 90's. One was terribad and I killed it unceremoniously and the other I still use from time to time but it was mostly for publishing poetry and stuffs.

A mustache would have made it more obvious. :p

Ah yes, truly, my obsession with mustaches is my legacy.

If it helps:
