Graphics Card Advice

I'm busy building a gaming PC on a strict budget since my laptop is pretty useless for gaming nowadays.

So far I've bought:

Intel Pentium G3258 @ 3.20GHz
MSI Intel H81M-P33 Mobo
8GB DDR3 1600

Salvaging the following from my old desktop:

Cooler Master eXtreme Power 550W
Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200

So now all I need is a graphics card for around R1000. Something that can handle the likes of Guild Wars 2 pretty well.
Would the R7 250 be a good choice?

I've got an MSI GTX 550 Ti if you're interested?

The R7 250 is really slow, and R1000 for a GPU (new) is not enough. Look at spending atleast R1700 and get a GTX750 or R7 260X.

The 550 ti that BeoTeK is offering is also faster than the R7 250, so maybe consider that as well.

If I were you I wouldn't go for the R7 250. The Joker can also perhaps weigh in here.

Basically this.

Also try carbonite if you're patient and wait for a deal.
I'm in the same boat with the same budget trying to salvage parts form my old PC.

However the reason for the upgrade is for Shadow of Mordor :p

Don't skimp on CPU/GPU I'd say. You're bound to find an awesome deal on carbz

Mate got this card if you want it let me know and I will send it to you should be able to run games and then you can save up a bit and buy a better card later on.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not looking to play GTA V or anything like that.
Mainly want to play Guild Wars 2 and some older games in my backlog at the moment.

Just want to get something affordable now, then I can get a decent upgrade in the future.

I've been checking carbonite daily but there is hardly any GPU's for R1000 or less. Mostly high end cards on sale.

Have you seen Crzwaco's post yet? Do we have another BeoTeK day scenario on our hands?
