Bloodborne: the official thread

geeezus dude! I don't even think I'm halfway with my first play through yet

Hahaha. Yeah, I've been playing it quite a lot, especially the last week or so that I have been on leave. I play it pretty much the whole day, can't seem to stop. I wanted to another playthrough of both Witcher 1 and 2 before W3 drops, but I don't see how that's gonna happen with Bloodborne. I just don't feel like doing anything else other than playing it.

I have to keep taking Bloodborne brakes, for health reasons :p

HAHA! I had the same luck, colleague bought it. 2 days later got offered it for trade on my copy of The Evil With In or R 300.

I parted with the R 300 without a second thought.

*EDIT*
I still have not played TEWI, have hardly touched GTA V and FC4, am struggling to Finish Middle Earth... Now I have a copy of the Order and Witcher 3 coming my way next week. FML.

My exams can not finish fast enough.

Man this game is breaking my spirit now. Think my biggest problem is I loos my cool and then loose all my echoes and then I rage quit...

Bloodborne getting an expansion!!! :D Hell yeah, but then we saw this coming.

Sony's delightful Shuhei Yoshida wrote on Twitter, "So I have been asked by many people if we are making DLC for Bloodborne. I can say... An expansion is coming. More info later this year. :D"

source

I like the fact that he said expansion and not DLC. Hopefully that means something big.

That might explain while you are struggling so much man. Did you go there by making your way through the game or did you get killed by one of those bag dudes and brought to the prison? If you we're brought there in a bag then you just need to find the lantern in that area and go back to the other areas. It's possible to kill a boss there now, but I couldn't do it at that point. IMO you are way too low a level to be in Yhargul, I try to aim for somewhere between 70 and 80 when I get there. You come back to this area later by progressing through the game and while there are some more difficult enemies at that point, you should be strong enough to handle them by them, even if it means beckoning some helpers or "cheesing" the enemies.

yeah I was dragged there... well that makes a lot of sense then. even the hounds put me on my ass. then I'll backtrack a bit to where I was "caught" :)

Yeah, I think you should be at the very least lvl 50 but preferred is lvl 60.

Spoiler: show

From the prison you can work your way all the up the spiral staircase to the lantern. Otherwise go down the spiral staircase to another prison section, you'll find a break through in the wall that goes to Darkbeast Paarl. That boss is actually designed to be taken on at your level, you'd be recommended to do that now!

yeah I made it to Darkbeast Pearl once and got my ass handed to me cause I was completely unprepared

Actually an easy fight, if prepared. User a weapon that has a wide range in sweeping motion. Then also the Henryck set will help with resistance.

so I backtracked to Cathedral Ward. fell to my death a couple of times. swore a lot. pooped my pants a couple of times. and opened a lot of gates. now I'm fighting with Amelia. she's no as hectick, I figured out her tactics early on. tackled her 3 times now and came relatively close to killing her every time. think I need to upgrade my vitality a bit. I'm lvl 45 now ^_^

Sony and From Software have released patch 1.04 for Bloodborne. The patch is around 300MB in size.

The patch notes were not published in English, only in Japanese. The most important change is the removal of the level difference requirement when using a co-op password.

The other major change is increasing the storage maximum for blood vials and quicksilver bullets to 600.

  • By using password matching, you can now be matched regardless of level difference, and even with a hostile oath
  • Conditions for the appearance of the insight store changed: it will appear when the player has one or more insight instead of 10
  • Added a “blood chunk” item to the insight store (it will appear after playing the game up to a point).
  • Up to 600 Blood vials and quicksilver bullets can now be stored in the storage
  • Adjusted the strength of some enemies in some areas in new game plus
  • Adjusted the resistance and vulnerability of some enemies to bolt and arcane attacks
  • Changes made to how Beasthood accumulates. This increases duration and improves attack of beast mode
  • Adjusted the effect of Beast Blood Pellet item
  • Fixed a bug of the attack force of the Rifle Spear. In particular, it was fixed a problem with the use of Blood Gems
  • Reduced the stamina use of the Kirkhammer
  • Reduced the stamina use of the Logarius’ Wheel
  • Increased the duration of Old Hunter Bone and reduced the use of Quicksilver Bullets
  • Increased the duration of the effect of Tiny Tonitrus. Increased attack force. Attack force with low arcane will be higher.
  • Increased the duration of the effect of Augur of Ebrietas. Attack force with low arcane will be higher
  • Reduced the Quicksilver Bullet cost for use of A Call Beyond
  • Reduced the Quicksilver Bullet cost for use of Choir Bell
  • Added Short Ritual Root Chalice to the insight store after completing the Pthumeru Chalice dungeon
  • It’s possible to take advantage of the Short Ritual Root Chalice from an earlier stage of the game
  • Added a random rewards when killing a Chalice dungeon boss. They will now drop a random Blood Gem in addition to weapon enhancement materials
  • Different depths of Chalice Dungeons will now drop different Blood Stones
  • -Depth 1: Blood Stone Shard
  • -Depth 2: Twin Blood Stone Shard
  • -Depth 3: Twin Blood Stone Shard and Blood Stone Chunk (Rare)
  • -Depth 4: Blood Stone Chunk
  • -Depth 5: Blood Stone Chunk and Blood Rock (Rare)
  • Increased the level of Blood Gems available in Depth 1-3 Dungeons
  • Increased the amount of Blood Echoes dropped in Chalice Dungeons
  • Co-op partners joining a cursed dungeon will only see their HP reduced by 50%, and not by 65% as it was before
  • When starting co-op in a chalice dungeon, you will now spawn in the lantern room
  • Weapons with special names like “uncanny” and so forth can now be purchased from the Bath Messengers once found
  • Adjusted the brightness of the screen when finding a pool of Blood Echoes on the ground
  • Corrected the bug that disconnect you from online mode when in stand-by
  • Corrected a bug that caused enemies not to be displayed correctly for co-op guests when moving fast
  • Further tweaks and bug fixes
