NXE: New Xbox Experience

I must say this is a massive improvement to the old interface!!! The interactivity is awesome. Anybody else done the conversion yet?
 
I haven't updated in ages. Iv heard mixed reports...

So you recommend the update? hmmm
 
Honestly, I prefer to old blade system to the new NXE. Yeah the avatars are pretty cute and all but the old system was much....err...cleaner if I may. Personal opinion I guess.
 
I also prefer the old blade system, although Avatars are good!

Somehow, I always end up somewhere I did not want to be when searching for an item. So maybe if they arranged things differently, it could work.

So until that happens though, I tend to press the Xbox button that then brings up a mini blade system

what about the mini blade menu you get when you hit your guide button? does that fill the void?

myself, i love the new NXE. everything just feels snappier, smoother and cleaner. i dig the new party system and the "install to hdd" features. those two were the major features for me. the avatars are meh, but i don't mind them.

Nah the mini guide blade just doesn't cut it. I just prefer the old clean, simple, and plain look (I'm old skool :P ... I would have prefered the old blade system with the new NXE features.
 
Flip! I havent switched on my xbox in quite a while. I'll need to check out the new nxe... any idea on the update size?
 
about 128mb? or something like that. nothing TOO hectic. and i think that most of the download is for that stupid video clip they play after the installation. bah! what a waste
 
OK so is this a new dashboard. New as in 2009. or are you still discussing the update during the 2008 festive season? My XBOX has moved to a room with no wired Ethernet adapters so I'm without the online component of my xbox. I have the dashbord that requires you to create an avatar. AM I up to date??

That seems correct :) NXE is the update containing the sims based avatar you create
 
The NXE is worlds better than the old one, download it wothout a doubt - it's about 128mb I think - guys with Arcade systems (No HDR) are having issues I think.
 
It's definately an improvement over the old interface. But just one question: why is this in the PC section and not the xbox section?
 
NXE is great except now your media update isn't shared amongst gamer profiles. Also for the media update to work you need to be connected to xbox live when you want to use it. Which is pretty crap for me since i used to cart my xbox around and liked being able to watch my avi files on it anywhere.
