Wootware?!

If you're scared of shipping the screen, maybe order from Rebeltech, and go and pick it up yourself?

Woot Wear had a special. Was the only reason I wanted to buy there.
But now the problem is, Rebeltech has NO idea what Firmware version their Screens are. And that influences my decision

Ah okay I see, best of luck with your screen hunting then:)

Ja, I wouldn't get an LG monitor again. pass in this one OP

Yeah, LG seems to have a lot of quality control issues. I honestly can't recommend that brand. I returned my monitor for having excessive backlight bleed just to get a new one with excessive backlight bleed in the opposite corner. Wootware claimed there was nothing wrong with the screen, but when I tap it in that corner, the backlight bleed goes away. Sounds a lot like a build quality issue to me.

I'd rather get a Samsung or Dell.

Wow, that sounds like a disappointment from the screen and frustration from wootware! Did they not accept a return of the second screen? Did you manage to get a different brand entirely?

I had good experience with an old 17" tft samsung. I've never seen a Dell screen- are they very good?

They offered me a refund on the second screen, but I opted to rather just keep it. The light bleed wasn't as severe on the second one. I need a monitor and I won't find something with similar specs in the same price range. I've decided to just save up and buy a 27" Dell at the end of the year. I can then sell this one off to someone who wants it for office use or the like.

Interesting reasoning. If this isnt overstepping it- what price are you looking at for a 27" Dell? With the 4K gaming market expanding so rapidly, I would be inclined to holding of a slight bit to see the prices on these screen drop- hopefully for you by the end of the year!
