Call of Duty: Black Ops III, the next entry in Activision's incredibly popular first-person shooter series, is coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Noticeably missing, however, is a version for Wii U, which was rumored a few months back. "It should be noted that there's no version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for Nintendo Wii U planned," the publisher confirmed in its announcement.

Beenox and Mercenary Technology are handling the last-gen port, which won't feature all the bells and whistles of its PS4, Xbox One, and PC counterparts. While the current-gen versions will feature four-player campaign co-op, the port for PS3 and Xbox 360 will only support cooperative play for two-players.

This means they are still using the same old tired graphics engine from previous titles. Also, CoD is a massive money vacuum, so I am not surprised it's on previous gen consoles to ensure maximum number of gamers around the world will fork out money for this.

From what I understand, a different team is working on the prev-gen console version. Having said that, I really don't (and no-one really ever should) think that they will be significant changes to the engine; beef it up once a year, for the perception of "better looking".

it will be ported to previous gen, they're not creating a different version, it will be a port like titanfall was and advanced warfare, same game less detailed assets and a change in some gamemodes
