basically durign the event you are going to get special quests liek kill this goblin(diablo style) and you get 100 gold extra each time also when a hero gets to lvl 9 you get 750 gold per hero

yay! So hopefully for the hero's that is already level 9 - we will also get the funds :P

To bad nothing you do on PTR will go over to the real game :/

Additionally, Hero and Player Levels, Gold, rewards, and other content unlocks earned on the PTR will not transfer over to the current version of the game when the PTR is closed.

sigh im getting this error "Downloading 1,246 MB / 1,280 MB (0.0 KB/s) apparently its a fsck up with the new patch that some people get

Nope tis a big error a lot of people get. Others complain of massive lag in the game since the latest patch. I had that screen, restarted my bnet and hots and got it again but it went away then after 5mins.

Guys you really shouldn't be getting that network icon in the top left corner. I have a pretty standard 4mb adsl line and mostly get about 180-190ms. What I've found is that the ISP makes a huge difference. Afrihost is useless and gives me way over 200ms whereas crystal Web and webafrica are about 180-190. Makes a big difference if you are sub 200.

Im going to add you guys, enjoying the game a lot.

I think my battlenet id is: shibobo#2785.

Edit: basically 200ms+ will show the flashing network icon, below 200ms and it should disappear.

You do get spikes from time to time, but in general it's consistent.

Where are you located if I might ask ?

I've tried my free Webafrica account in the past to test this "sub 200ms" claims for HotS. Didn't do shit for me. Why? Because I believe that the closer you're to the uplink/termination point (where data leaves SA to go abroad) in Jhb/Cpt the lower your latency will be.

My latency is about 200-210ms, and it doesn't bother me at all, and imho doesn't make a difference vs the latency you have :)

I'm in Stellenbosch, in a relatively old area up towards the mountain. The max line speed with our exchange is 4mb, as far as I know. Perhaps its not congested as a result of this. Played a few games last night and it was very stable at approximately 175ms.

Yeah listen I hear you, pings of just over 200ms is playable. I'm no pro gamer but I have played many server based games and personally the difference between 210 and 175 is quite noticeable. As far as ISP's go, I tested it again last night and using WA makes a big difference vs Afrihost and even Crystalweb. It does change from time to time though. For example when I started testing Crystalweb I was getting pings in the 180 range, but lately its jumped to over 200 again.

Add me if you like, I am looking for more locals to jam with. shibobo#2785

Hey, I live in the sticks (North-West Province) and have to make do with a ping of 270 - 300.

Yoh man that sucks. I recently signed up for a Vox account and they're even better. Best I've seen 160-165ms. Seriously impressed with them. I'm going to cancel my afrihost account for sure.
