The Last of Us 2 is real says Nolan North

TLoU2 not really confirmed then, but possibly in the future.

They gonna have to think the sequel through thoroughly before starting development. Really have no idea how you can continue from where it left off

Or maybe not a sequel but a totally new story line.
 
I loved the characters so much I'm really hoping for their return. I'd love to play as an older Ellie. I have faith they could build a good story to include them. But if not, and it's new characters, I'm sure that would be great too.
 
As much as I would love to play as an older version of Ellie, her's and Joel's story-line was conclusive enough.
New characters, different setting; maybe a different time frame.

Since Ellie herself was the cure, the virus is still present; there is possibility for a continuing narrative.

I think that Ellie and Joel's story was told and we should leave it alone. A new setting with new characters is the best way to handle a sequel IMO.

but was Ellie? We never really knew, was all speculation and assumption, Joel wasn't ready to take that risk!

Agreed with your completely, I think the "community" you came across in the sewers should have their story told, you know the fisherman guy?

All this talk about a sequel puts me in the mood to play the first one again. And I've played it 6+ times already! Still got grounded mode to do sometime...

I for one would love more of a continued story, maybe a few years later. Some filler bits like they did with left behind would also be welcome. And a movie. Too much to ask?

Well a movie is in progress, announced last year. Although no further updates make me worry it might end up in development hell like the long talked about Uncharted film.
