Hackers in the Local Community

Flex

Will lift for boobs!
This is becoming a bigger and bigger problem in South Africa's Online gaming community.
I actually had a hacker intoxicate my whole CSGO Team. We had him (Mistem) lined up as a captain for my second team. I had another community member warn me and send me proof that he is hacking. I reviewed the replay and it was obvious.
He kept on denying it, but one of his friends then told me it was true. The captain to be, and 2 of his members he wanted to recruit were all hacking...

My whole team suffers from this now. we loose ranks and have a bad name now.
What can we do to stop hackers?
These specials team sales enable hackers to buy multiple copies of the game. So it does not bother them if 1 or 5 accounts get banned.

Have you guys had any experience like this?

I'm of the opinion that anyone who dominates me MUST be hacking :D

Seriously though I remember reading an interesting article about the hacking industry for CSGO on PC Gamer - Link

Cheating pisses me off so much, Its like steroids in competitive sport. The whole reason I love playing online games is for the competition, and using cheats would take that away for me. ( If I beat you I want it to be fair and square, else its not real defeat). BUT because there are a couple of people who do it, more people follow suit just to even out the playing field. I think cheaters don't care about the competition aspect of it and rather just use online gaming as a rather deranged way to get an ego boost.

Cheating has been around since games have been around. It's shitty and it's lame, however I only really see sub-par players use it to make themselves look better than what they really are.

South Africans do think everyone is cheating though I had a friend who's name was tarnished by a facebook post saying he was a hacker when he is 100% legit seems that the local community can't stand being outplayed.

Sad part about these "Hackers" they wouldn't even know how to make a C++ project that reads from memory and injects a new value into ram.

So I don't call them hackers, they babies, still learning to walk, still learning how to socialise.

There was a HUGE wave of VAC bands last year in the International PRO CSGO community! O_o

Yeah hackers is not really the right word. They just buy the hacks, follow the readme and there they go. So Cheaters is a better word.

My main problem is that if that if Valve/steam/volvo can't improve VAC system then they should make Competitive online games more expensive and not put them on 80% off sales.
This will not eliminate hacking at all, but they will think twice before hacking and wasting lots of money. Just my thought

Again, sub-par "pros" trying to gain a competitive edge. As with any sport "Money and gentility would ruin any pastime under the sun"

Some of them even Pro players for top tier teams. Like KQLY from Titan for example : http://www.hltv.org/news/13651-kqly-ban-was-justified

And as you said KIDS! Found out the guys that were going to play for my second team were 14-16. Using dads credit card to purchase the hacks

The question remains with these players; Some got caught, how many are yet to be caught and how many of these "top" players would be where they are if they didn't cheat? Sadly it set a poor example for up and coming players who now want to "cheat to win" to ultimately become a cash earning player

Very very True! Lots of people still have their pitchforks out for the FNATIC players and strongly believe that they do hack. It is very sad yes. intoxicates the whole community!

I'm so bad at first person shooters online. Now I know why. Everyone else is cheating! :D Seriously though, that sucks Flex. I'm not much of a multiplayer gamer so I didn't even know that it's such a big problem in South Africa.

I stopped playing FPS titles competitively due to this:

My hand has just never felt the same again, but I know (and have proven) that I can still get some serious K/D ratios playing online. But then I end up with a seriously tight and stiff hand after a lengthy session.

Its a game that uses code and while there is code, there is some Russian/Chinese dude that will work out a way to wreck ur day. This is something that has played the industry for many many years and it will be there for many years to come. All u can do is better/improve ur recruiting process and vet the guys better.

Man I remember when I use to play CoD comps and certain teams were insane online, but when it came to live play u could see there was a difference. And they were all script kiddies.

I have not run into many local hackers in game, but definitely internationally.
Solitude - console gaming does that. Sticks are just not KB+Mouse. :)
