You'll be disappointed to find out then that the game is only going to be available on the 17th in good 'ol South Africa. I pre-ordered and pre-downloaded on Xbox live and will only be able to play it on the 16th.

If only that was my only disappointment. Have you read some of the reviews of the game. It's not looking good at all. Biggest complaints are about the lack of content. I'm starting to doubt whether or not I should get it.

I've checked some reviews and they seem mixed. I agree with the lack of content, especially the courses. There are only 12, of which 3 are fantasy courses. If you pre-order you get 1 additional for free.
I'm not really worried about the players though, I create my own and never play with the licensed pros on offer.
I'm still looking forward to playing it, the gameplay looks solid and that's good enough for me.

Yeah that's the thing. All the reviews I've read says the game looks and plays well. It seems to have good gameplay, and I've been starving for a golf game. I also read they are not giving this game a number like the previous ones in the franchise, as this is a platform for future development. I wonder if that means DLC coming with more courses and stuff like that.

It's EA. I'm pretty sure we can count on lots of DLC. I personally hope they do another game in the future. The first edition on this generation of platforms is bount to have loads of room for improvement.
Also I've already purchased online, if you want to hold out I can give you my opinion when I've started playing it for myself.
