Batman vs Superman

Remember......they tread a fine line of fanboys here and they have to make both camps happy. *Spoiler* Bruce definitely has to use Kryptonite on Clarkey boy otherwise no contest, Supes would murder him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but our yellow sun has a lot to do with his strength, in DKR a nuke going off gave Bats a huge 1 up due to the sun being blocked out by all the dust kicked p from the nuke.

So if for some reason the sun got blocked and superman could not fly due to his power being drained and Batman in his "superman buster" suite could then potentially without using kryptonite kick his ass, cause we all know bats does not like killing.

"Spoiler"
In DKR he used the Kryptonite to win the fight but it was more to over kill his point that he could if he wanted to - thx green arrow.

Wonder which Robin that is? Mmm, and that figure looking at what I think is the mansion...Joker maybe? Would be nice for some kind of introduction before his appearance in Suicide Squad.

Yes, you are right. Superman does need to recharge using solar rays after extended use of his powers but he is like a solar battery so it would take a while before he is "flat".

That would be correct, yes. But it is used quite liberally and inconsistently. In All-Star Superman, he gets so much exposure to the sun that it poisons him. In other instances, he's poised to fight against Muhammed Ali and instantly loses his power when they are faced with each other under a red sun.

ya, many different iterations of superman. Superman Prime spent 15 000 years in the sun.

Not a fan of the prime story arc though.

hahaha... I've never been a Superman fan tbh
I've just found the Batman movies to resonate with me better than the Superman ones (along with comics). I've always kinda seen Superman as a bit of a pissy boy, crying about this or that.

I did like Man of Steel. I guess Batman must have some uber gadgets to stand a chance against Superman? Apart from kryptonite - can he even be killed?

Anyway - been more of an Iron Fist and Powerman fan. Cannot wait for Iron Fist on Netflix!!

Ali whipped his ass :p

So a short something and without droning detail , Superman is supposed to be hard to relatable to, He is basically a god trying to be a man or at least have the moral values of a good one, that's the only thing holding him back the fact that he wants to love and be loved and to not completely devastate the entire planet with one punch, in that sense he is relatable in his weakness when it comes to matters of the heart and soul.If we were to see him as a hero it would need to be in that of his character and not his physical strength

Seeing mine on friday and most of the reviews i have read are positive. I see if you view in imax you get a nice key chain

Sooooo. It was alright but I liked the Batman trilogy much more. There were some things that bothered me. Especially something that Batman did that he wouldn't do. But lets wait until more people saw it and then we can talk with spoiler tags.

I thought the last fights were outstanding though and Wonder Woman is amazing. And Ben Affleck is a good Batman all considering.

Here's a post I made in the TK

I've seen it. And I'm one person who can admit when he was wrong (thinking back on DC Universe conversations we've had for a long while). The following aren't spoilers (not a single spoiler) but brief thoughts on the movie and I'm encapsulating it in Spoiler tags so that those who want to go and see it blind can do so;
Spoiler: show
I have concerns. Worth a watch because it's got some of the coolest shit I've seen in a comic book movie and the characters are awesome and fleshed out, but there are a lot of problems with this movie especially because of what the movie assumes and expects of the fans going in. Basically cool and epic movie with too much fan service and not enough plot. For me? Man of Steel is a better film
.

Man of Steel sits at a comfortable 8.5/10 for me (and I'll defend that to the death of me) whereas Batman v Superman sits at a 7 and runs the tightrope of being a 6.5 or a 7.5 as I digest and reconcile my thoughts.

Spoiler: show
Like, I was frustrated by a lot of storytelling blunders, and sidenote I don't care about liberties they take with these characters because the source material history is so rich that there's so many different incarnations of these characters that you best believe there's incarnations who aren't like "our" definitive versions (our favorite versions I guess). Sidenote, that thing you think Batman wouldn't do, I can bet you right now there's an incarnation of him within the DC Universe that would do exactly that, and that's why I could never get hung up things like "Superman doesn't kill" or things that are specific to an incarnation of these characters because the comics themselves don't get hung up on those things as they keep redoing canon at intervals. In fact, I'd say the character stuff in the movie was great. Batman/Bruce Wayne* (might be my favorite cinematic Batman in terms of how he was portrayed), Superman/Clark*, Lois, Alfred, Perry, etc (expect Lex Luthor bothered me though for numerous plot related reasons).

*I include Bruce and Clark in this because they add to the character related progression of the alter egos in the movie.

My problem was that this was too dense a movie in the sense that were 5 stories being told and not enough focus on any of the threads for me to care or be invested, no real narrative structure giving the movie real forward momentum. Like so many cool things happened but throughout the movie I kept asking myself "what's the actual plot?". And it wasn't because there wasn't a plot, there were just too many plots that weren't serviced into a great narrative. The movie expects so much from a fan in terms of suspension of disbelief, and tries to sell on certain things in the story that just aren't earned in the narrative (don't get me wrong, a lot of it is cool but it is no way earned).

Also, the universe building stuff was SOOOOOOO FUCKING COOOOOL!!! But at the same put into the context of the movie was distracting. Man, mind is all over the place on this one. I need a second viewing to wrap my head around what my coherent thoughts are.

There were good ideas moving the movie, but there wasn't a real narrative that was given focus. What plot ? Here, have all this fan service!
