The Elder Scrolls Online

Oh another tip, something not always explained :

The skills you put on your action bar...ONLY those will "level" while you get xp, likewise with your weapon/armor . Not sure if it changed since i played last, but we used to swop out all skills/gear right before handing in a quest with alot of xp reward , in order to level them.

So if you are playing with a 2h sword and want to level your destruction staff, you need to actually hold it when you get xp.

To add to this. NEVER, I repeat NEVER repair ur gear while levelling. Just replace it with any gear u can slot there. Trust me its not worth the money to repair. When I realized this I started to save a lot of money!

Also each area has a main story map per questing system. So what that means is each map has its own "main story" those quests give the most XP out of all the quests available on that map and by completing the map' quest line you can get to the next map a lot quicker. If its ur 1st run through the game I wouldn't recommend this, cause clearing a map is really cool and u get an achievement. But its what I used once I hit VR levels to push through Cadwell's Silver and Gold quests.

Something I did as well, was pick a weapon class and get it to say level 30 and move on to the next. This way I got to try all the different weapon classes and see how they work. Whats great is any levels u have achieved in any skill stays with u, so when u respect u never loose the levels u gain.

Armour/ weapon researching is somewhat of a bitter/sweet for me. When u 1st hit ur max vr level, crafted gear is really cool, but u can quickly replace it with BOE gear for a price. I currently only have 3 crafted items equipped and the rest is dropped gear. So while its cool to craft ur own gear, its so easy to get some1 to craft the gear for u.

I started out with a new Dragon Knight, then noticed everyone and their grandmother is playing a DK, so i figured i'll be different and play a Templar , so far so good.

I still think the Sorceror is the best if you want to solo/pve (because of the pets) , maybe Nightblade comes in close in terms of stealthing around more consistently , but then again, i've found in this game you usually need to actually kill the mobs to finish the quest. The stealth skills you got on the medium armor line is pretty solid on all classes methinks.

Having a few random crashes on the Xbox 1, but overall it is slowly dragging me back in. The game can feel very generic/meh when you start out, but it has that thing where it just grows on you and suddenly you are finding yourself dying your gear and fishing in ponds .

Yea it's addictive. I am sleep deprived already but can't stop playing.

I still don't know why everyone is playing Ebonheart Pact campaign , it is really not the prettiest of campaigns to be honest. I mean lvl 1-5 is all snow/rocky and lvl 5-15 (where i am at now) you're in rocky, volcanic , sulpher smoke zone. Is it because it reminds everyone of Skyrim and Morrowind?

My alts all played either Daggerfall (oasis/desert with quickly switching to jungle) or Aldmira (elves/forests/lotsa green).

Another thing on console i'm still getting use to is the voice chatting . Since you can't type in a chatbox like regular MMOs, i find it quite amusing how there is this area chat and you would be running around on your own and suddenly walk into this voice conversation between two people trying to attack a boss, or you get someone who died/got stuck and is lying there screaming in voice chat "heeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!!" ...hilarious.

Agh at the end of the day u get to run through it all, so it doesn't really matter to much. Its more about who is playing on which faction.

Yesterday I finally completed veteran DragonStar Arena and was lucky enough to get a purple V14 Master Bow!

Hi guys, is it worth buying the game now?

Looking at buying it, if it's 40GB on PC hopefully I can play it by tomorrow night if I start now.

ah okay.. i heard the console version was going to be F2P.. didnt know they did the same for the PC version

It is like Guildwars 2 , you must buy the box, but from then on it is free (no sub needed), on console too.

Is the imperial version worth it?

As for Imperial edition, it depends, main feature you get from that is the Imperial "race" and ability to pick any race , regardless of the faction you pick. The default is that each faction are limited to specific races , i.e. if you want to play a Argonian/Dark Elf you need to roll Ebonheart Pact or if you want play Khajiit you need to roll Aldmeri Dominion. With Imperial edition you do not have this limitation.

I can't remember the details of the Imperial "race" right now, but they were kind of a "jack of all trades" race in terms of race specific stats.

Keep in mind you can always upgrade to imperial later, i'd say if you're not sure about the game, get basic and buy the imperial "upgrade" as you start getting into it....

Unless of course you can get the imperial edition for cheap.

You also get a horse from the start (in the imperial edition, last i checked), considering you can only train your horse once every 24 hours, it is quite handy having a horse to train early on....

Thanks, ended up just getting the imperial for $21 from gmg :) looking forward to starting it up tomorrow.

This is a great game and vastly different to when it launched! Its also a good time to start playing with their new content update on the way!

Bought Tamriel the other day...haven't actually played it though.

Is it clan / MP centric or is it something one can jam when one has time?

Its an MMO, so ur progress is based on when u online doin it really, like any other game. There is a complete singleplayer element to it and u will spend many hours on that. But as with any MMO there is a large group/clan/raids/dungeons/pvp element to it.

I'd say this game is alot more solo/casual friendly than MP/Clan friendly. The whole 3 factions + phasing thing makes thing even less MP/Clan friendly. You can join up to 5 guilds last i checked, but even that doesn't mean you can actually group up if you are in different factions.

On console it is probably even more solo due to the inability to type in any chat channels. While the voice chat is interesting and can work with people you know, it is quite difficult to organize anything with people outside of your personal friends.

Simple example is Cyrodill which is the open PvP/Siege zone. On PC you pitch up there and can ask in zone-chat where everyone is and join the zerg/action. On voice chat it does not quite work like that, you will have to hope you see someone nearby to talk to or follow etc.
