Crystal Dynamics’ Rise of the Tomb Raider will be running in 1080p resolution according to game director Brian Horton.
Horton confirmed as much on Twitter. Following a graphics analysis by NC Gamer, “Rise of the Tomb Raider footage he previewed is 1080p from an Xbox1.”

There was initially doubt since a number of Xbox One third party titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman: Arkham Knight have been running at 900p resolution but this is good news for fans.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is follow-up to the 2013 reboot and sees Lara Croft begin her journey to becoming a Tomb Raider. She’s on the hunt for the city of Kitezh in Siberia and battles against an organization known as Trinity, which helped cover up the events on Yamatai Island in the first game.

Releasing first on Xbox One and Xbox 360, Rise of the Tomb Raider is out on November 10th.

If it was 1080p@60fps.. then I will consider it newsworthy. But sadly the XB1 is not really capable of doing that on most games.

Still gonna buy and play it on my XB1 regardless. It's one of the few reasons why I bought an XB1 last month

I'm actually not so fussed about the 30/60 fps thing for console. On pc i understand because of the mouse but with a controller you only look around so fast.
