Channing Tatum confirmed to play Gambit

MalicE

Party time! Excellent!
Earlier this week, there was a report that Channing Tatum was pulling out of the X-Men spinoff film, Gambit despite several years of personally lobbying for the movie to happen. There was even speculation that the entire Gambit film could be canceled because of Tatum’s departure.

But now, “everyone can relax… Gambit has arrived.”

Tatum has closed his deal with Fox to portray the title character in Gambit. It seems that there was some truth to the report that Tatum and Fox hit a rough patch in negotiations. The sticking points appear to have been Tatum’s backend compensation and the length of his tenure as Gambit. Fox is said to view Gambit as “one of the anchor characters of the X-universe, akin to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, someone who would anchor his own movies and appear in numerous others.” That’s a commitment that could last a decade or more.

Well that's a sure fire way to get more women to go see comic book movies :D

im not sure if he is going to manage to pull of the southern accent cause in 22 jump street and the sequal he couldnt even manage a proper accent when they went under cover(although this might have been done to be funny)

I don't know hey, I like Channing. Will reserve judgement until I see him in action. He can't be worse tham the guy they used in Wolverine.

Fuck dude... Taylor Swift would be better suited than him.

But since you mention Taylor Kitsch, I actually had to Google, he could pull it off. Looks wise at least.

yeah I'll even be happier with Luke Evans, I liked him in Dracula Untold

but Gambit is a pretty serious, intense character. Tatum can't do serious

I see your point, but just because he hasn't done serious properly yet, doesn't mean that he can't. He might surprise us.

I saw Jupiter Ascending...
LOL, I haven't seen that yet (luckily from what I hear). Probably won't watch it either.

But yeah, like I said. Regardless of any of his previous roles I'll wait until I can see him in action in this role before making a judgement.
