Hey noobs, new nVidia drivers out. :D

Upgrade of fresh install DieGrootHammer

Oh and I picked up problems with AV apps as well. AVG being the worse.

Large Excel files give me no problems worked on one today for more than 6 hours.

You bite your tongue! :p

Strange, I've been using AVG for years and years, both on my office and home PC, had basically no problems.
But yeah, sometimes a program just seems to not have a liking in you and likes to mess with you for no reason. Mine being Norton/Symantec AV. I dislike it with a passion.

AlphaJohn, seems I'll have to do that. I keep getting very strange issues with my system, and it's starting to get annoying. Might as well just back-up and ddo a fresh install.

I have a dislike for AVG, it's just a dog. But so is McSucky Virus, Trend Micro AV, etc etc etc...I use ClamAV / Immunet and have zero performance issues and have had NO outbreaks or infections for a very very long time.

Yeah, AVG is a dog, and a bitch at that! I despise it, particularly for it resource usage. We use it at work on all our PC's and it's shite! Though we have just signed a partnership with TrendMicro iirc, so when these licenses expire we'll probably move over.

But on a more Windows 10 note. I'm not really liking it at the moment. Everything looks so.... big.

It's as if I have enable the "visually impaired" option and high contrast options. It just looks funky. And I dunno if it's Win10 or Steam, but my client looks like it's at fucking 1024 resolution compared to the rest of my UI.

Very strange. Everything for me seems to have been scaled down compared to Win8.1.

Not for me, everything feels nice and neat, not big or "visually impaired". If I am allowed to drift slightly of topic, even my install of f.lux works great on Windows 10.

Hmmm...my only visual complaint is that text smoothing doesn't look quite as crisp as it does in 7, doesn't bug me much though

A: Why would I bite my tongue is I am talking about real world problems re AVG and Windows 10 on multiple PC.
B: How can you talk about years and years if Windows 10 is not even out for more than a month?
C: If you really want to know what is the best AV use the net: Example http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php and https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/ as well as other tests show you where its at.

A: I am joking hence the smiley.
B: I meant from previous versions of windows
C: Did you even read those pages you posted? AVG isnt half bad on them.
D: wtf get your panties in a bunch? I was posting in jest, even admitted that certain software gives ppl trouble at times where other doesnt.

Erm I was not really upset, might have come a cross as such (Call it bad day at the office) but all I wanted to do is kill the my AV is better than yours where this thread was headed.

Might be a stupid question, but did you make sure your settings are to display at 100%? If you right-click on the desktop and choose "Display Settings" is the slider for "Change the size of text, apps and other items" at 100%? For some reason, both my desktop and laptop defaulted to 125% after the upgrade. I had to manually drag it down to 100%.

lol, did you update Geforce Experience as well?
Other than that, when you install the drivers, did you try the clean install option?

I guess devs are still having issue with Windows 10 and keeping everybody happy.

I don't care about "keeping everybody happy"! I only care about keeping me happy! Cos I'm a extra special super furry snowflake.
I am. My mom said so. :)
Yip, GeF Exp seems up to date. Pretty sure I did do a custom > clean install, I normally do. Guess it's possible I missed doing it this time though.
Rolled back to the previous driver (353.62) and games list repopulated perfectly again. Will retry the new driver later, carefully this time, and see what happens.

lol, its annoying.

My current issue is Far Cry 4...I installed it the night after I upgraded from 8.1 to 10. For a week all was awesome, then last week, I can play for about 5 minutes, then the game will either freeze or quit to desktop... frustrating deluxe. Looks like a problem that happens a lot from googling for fixes...that dont work.

Exactly this, thanking you.
