Gaming 20 Questions (NB read OP)

So we have a pre-2005 FPS that doesn't have aliens and may or may not be AAA title.

So not Duke and not blockbusters like Medal of Honour, COD etc.

This. Altho the problem is that Publishers themselves "define" a AAA game with marketing etc. There IS no set standard. So the 2 conflicting definitions of AAA are what im struggling with.


This may be considered a hint - AAA is either a game with a large budget and big marketing power (big adverts and called AAA by the publisher) or due to immense positive review and becoming a bestseller. Wiki quote:

Was also thinking Far Cry, but the original had aliens (sorta) so I'm not sure

Well I guess the answer should be yes if either of those 2 are met, and then perhaps the GM can state it is a AAA title because (large budget or very positive reviews or both). However that might be giving too much info.

Half Life had aliens, so can't be that.

Doom though had demons, so it might still be that.

Yeah that's what I was meaning, was replying to Darthmol saying "So not Duke and not blockbusters like Medal of Honour, COD etc." :p
 
This is why i was unsure if Dungeon Keeper was a AAA game. I think instead of asking is it a AAA game, we should just ask if it's an indie game

unreal tournament has aliens in it. and there cant be that many pre-2000 fps shooters can there? I cant remember my youth anymore :(
