I wanted to play Dragon Age Inquisition today but it required a 4.4GB update which on my connection takes quite a while. So ended up playing Forza Horizon 2 which also required an update. Luckily just not as large.

I had some serious heart palpitations last night at 3AM. Thought I was going to die ad couldn't get myself calmed down. My bf ended up rushing me to the ER. The doctor reckons it's just anxiety, but I'm still worried. I've had heart palpitations before, but nothing like that.

Weekend of rest prescribed, preferably in bed. So unfortunately no Mad Max or MGS for me. :(

Do what the doc said. Take it slow and relax for the weekend. Once you feel better, go for a full set of tests including the EKG where they monitor you on the treadmill.
It most probably is anxiety but making sure is a good idea and it will give you one less thing room worry about.

Yeah, they did an EKG and blood tests and had me on a saline drip and everything seems to check out. Just got a bit pain in my chest now, but I suspect it might just be the aftermath of the episode. My heart must have been doing 180 or 200bpm at one point. It literally felt like it was going to burst. Never been so scared in my life.

Guess I'm just starting to get old. :p

Watching the f1 qualies. Spent a bit of money at a new mosaic tile place- best service and prices ever. Then I will quickly make a flower pot and game later on after a nap

Try to take it easy for a few days. I've had two episodes myself a few years back when I thought the big squeeze was upon me. Turned out to be anxiety. Do you smoke? I do and the doc said that actually increases anxiety instead of having a calming effect.

Nah, don't smoke. I think it's just the fear of living here. It's really getting to me. In the last year I was burgled 4 times, two of which happened while I was asleep in the room and was almost mugged twice on the street. I'm just really on edge. We woke up to some woman screaming her lungs out at 3AM and both jumped up to run to the balcony, but it was some drunk students messing around. Couldn't get myself calmed down after that and was about ready to start penning my will.

I'm seriously getting too old for Stellenbosch. This place has become hellu unsafe.

Yeah, I can see anybody developing health problems having to deal with that on top of the stress of studies.
This is rather obvious advice, but start looking at ways to reduce your stress and anxiety. Talk to the bf and see of you can't move to a safer area, maybe.
Good luck and take care of yourself.

Hehe Ian is such a character. Also because the guys were free from press, they really spoke their minds. Was really interesting to hear what these legends of SA Rugby had to say. Spoiler alert, I got the distinct feeling they do not have a very positive outlook for RWC this year.

Closest thing I did was go to a braai at Gary Teichmann's farm where all the old Sharks players were and some Springboks.

Was a near a dam and had some Jet-skis although I never went in :D

Not Rugby, but I met Jonty Rhodes at a men's breakfast as he was doing a talk.

We used these tablets after some major stress in my family, but they are for shock and anxiety. They are called rescue-remedy tablets... maybe keep some at home just in case it happens again (only taken when something actually happens)?
