just had a fight with takealot over my kettle (which i bought last december), they were supposed to repair the led's but instead opted to credit me without telling me they will credit me, i asked them why couldnt they just swap the item it has a 2 year warranty now they want to claim they only give 6 month warranties (not 12 months) etc etc and because it was a kalahari order (told me a lang kak storie) ! so frustrating when companies are looking for loopholes

You cannot dispute this, or will its cost not warrant the kettle?

they have credited me R299 and that same kettle is on special for R290 so i just used the credit now to repurchase the item again. its so frustrating when it comes to companies in SA

Reminds me of my faulty mouse return. They claimed they'd credit me only the amount that I paid (which was R300); replacing it would have cost R400 and something. My accounted was credit the amount needed, however and I added to that for the mouse that I really wanted.

Suppose it's easier for them to just give you the money back than to replace the item. Still comes down to the same thing at the end of the day.

Telkom provides 4 meg speeds in the platteland - at least where I'm going. Happy days. :)

I was going to settle on 2Mbps. Not desirable, but available.

Why are you going to the Platteland? Apart from the fact that small town South Africa is ridiculously pretty and quiet, I mean. Especially Karoo and small places in the Northern Cape. Like Loxton!
