General gaming chit chat.

Metal gear 5 reviews are coming out and they are great 9 and 10's all over the place.I had no doubt Kojima would deliver. The wait now is soul destroying.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Redux (UE4) has been released on PC. To everyone who owns the original game, check your library, it's listed as a separate game.

What new features does the Redux offer?

1. A new save system. The UE3 version saved only entire solved areas. This was not the worst solution imaginable for this particular game but it was confusing. Now the game simply saves the state of the whole world right after most player actions, so you can exit the game at any time and when you come back the world will be restored as expected.

2. Invisible or barely visible streaming of new areas. You can run from one corner of Red Creek Valley to another nearly without a hitch. In the UE3 version, the streaming could freeze the game for a second or so, depending on the PC.

However, this comes at a cost. UE3 version is quite low-end PC friendly, and does not have demanding hardware requirements. UE4 version requires a 64-bit Windows and minimum 6 GB of RAM. If that’s not what your system has, we recommend playing the UE3 version. Again, story is exactly the same in both versions.

3. No more backtracking. Some PC players complained about the need for backtracking at the end of the game. It’s not always the case, but it’s hard to explain why without spoiling the game. Let’s just say that we believe the problem was fully eliminated in the Redux version.

4. Some PC players found a section of the game too scary and/or too exhausting. We have tweaked a few things to make sure that it flows better – without compromising the original vision.

I can't find a better thread to post this in. It is a video series about Fallout, which I can't stop watching. It is amazing!

It is almost 2 years old, so some of you have probably seen it already. I searched the forum but didn't find anything about this being posted.

So if you like/love Fallout, I suggest you give this a watch!

This is the prologue to the whole series.

Damn was actually wanting to buy Anno there as per my recent thread. Don't want a possibly dodgy key though.

It depends on the key though - I bought the Talos Principle Steam key and it all worked fine. I'd be a bit wary of a Uplay key - I recall there was an issue with those, something about a bunch of Uplay keys that were bought with fake credit cards - and all the keys were deactivated resulting in people losing access to the games they had bought. So it may be fine or it might not.

- - - - - - - - - - Double Post Merged - - - - - - - - - -

How disappointing.

RIP Proskater 2 - we shall never see your like again.

Either way its largely a question of luck & given that its a gift I can't run the risk of the key being dodgy.

It appears Ubisoft is about to announce something. Rumors are it's a pre-historic FarCry.

Edit: The image is zooming out REALLY slowly, it's probably going to take hours before anything is shown.

Well this is interesting... wonder if anyone actually knows what's going on. One of the biggest gaming stories in a long time and still going on.

Well seems like an unbiased opinion. I can actually quite enjoyed this, like a breath of fresh air.
