Any here remember the old Battletech games? I remember loving Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception, even though it was quite difficult at the time.

Harebrained Schemes - who did the Shadowrun games are looking to Kickstart a new game in the seires. Whilst I'm wary of backingon KS after getting burned by Planetary Annihilation, these guys have at least proved themselves when it comes to tactical turn-based combat. I'm keen to see what they'll have to offer.

Harebrained Schemes is pleased to announce their return to Kickstarter this Fall to partner with Backers in co-funding the creation of BATTLETECH. Jordan Weisman, the creator of BattleTech and MechWarrior, is back with the first turn-based BattleTech game for PC in over two decades. Steeped in the feudal political intrigue of the BattleTech universe, the game will feature an open-ended Mercenaries-style campaign that blends RPG ‘Mech and MechWarrior management with modern turn-based tactics.

Battletech was kickstarted yesterday and has already surpassed it's goal of $250 000 in fact it's nearly at the first stretch goal with $801 668 already pledged from 11 464 backers (and average of roughly $70 per backer!)

Holy shit that was fast. $800k already? That must be one of the fastest backings/rise in funding I have ever seen.

I will have a look at this in the evening and make a decision. I loved the Shadowrun games so atleast there is hope.

Well whatever happened to the new mechwarrior stuff. saw some gameplay demo footage like a year back, looked pretty kickass. mmm, lemme google it :p
