so -20 = -20
or
25-45 = 16-36
or
5[SUP]2[/SUP]-5*9=4[SUP]2[/SUP]-4*9
Let's add 81/4
5[SUP]2[/SUP]-5*9+81/4=4[SUP]2[/SUP]-4*9+81/4
so it's a perfect square
(5-9/2)[SUP]2[/SUP]=(4-9/2)[SUP]2[/SUP]
take the square root of both
5-9/2=4-9/2
thus (by adding 9/2)
5=4

What you missed is that 0/0 = 1 :-) It's the only time you can safely divide by zero depending on the context where 0/0 occurs, you might wish to substitute it with 1, indeterminate or undefined/nonexistent.

but on point i agree with hammer you have a formed expression you cant decide to divide a part of that expression as you are doing

Yes you can :-) Algebra says you can do that :-)

I disagree you are saying one expression is = to another ie.

(1 + 1) = (2 +0)

to then random place another variable anywhere you please doesnt make sense
(1*2 ) + 1 = (2*2 +0)(obviously wrong)
see what im getting at
however if you add it to the full expression
(1+1)*2 = (2+0)*2(correct)
