First Risen english review

Dude if you enjoyed G3 you will love risen! Its so much better...

But from your post I will be installing G3 the moment I am done with Risen and trying my level best to finish it :)
 
I really wish I could pick this game up and resume from where I was, sadly though I dont even think I got my savegames anymore, or even the game on my HDD for this matter.

I got the original DVD, but to get to where I was will take me litterally 3-4 weeks of play, also MW2 is around the corner, so then I wont touch ANYTHING else, not even borderlands.
 
I hope to be playing the game by the weekend. I didn't like gothic 3 very much. Initially I loved it, but after a few hours the flaws started coming out. It was no gothic 2.
 
Well Isengard you will love RIsen no bugs so far 3 hours in :)

P.S> Just be very careful with the quests and how you approach them you can break the quests with your actions and choices
 
Gotta love broken quest chains. I'll take that into consideration, thanks. Btw, does the game have the random loot chests that gothic 3 had? No one seems to answer me on that question.

Nope, I tested that many times :( I saved before opening Treasure chests hoping that each time you get something different/better saved, loaded and same items over and over.
 
I had that in gothic 3, whereby I defeated some orcs but their slaves still thought they were alive, thereby prohibiting me to advance in the quest. At that stage I had to retrace to a previous savegame, which was something like 4-5 hours back, and I still had the bug :/

Luckily years later when I played it again all was fine :D

OUCH! Yip broken quests is what kills games like G3, Risen, etc.
 
Great, I hated the random loot chests! :D Did you pick up any cool swords or items lying in obscure places? I loved that about gothic 2, it made exploring very much worth it.

I havent but I know there is Titan armour, Soulstealer swords, etc. I am still in the very early stages of teh game :)
 
How does the game run on your rigs.

I've heard its really not that rig breakning eventhough its a beautiful game. Something that Gothic 2 and 3 failed to do. Look good while running smooth.
 
They apparently made the game use one core for loading this time so it's a lot more playable than gothic 3. Will see how it runs on my pc soon.
