Okay, time for a quick recap and summary post of the news and info out of CitizenCon2015 last night.

Huge props to MetalSoup for pretty much posting up all the videos pretty much as they went live - I couldn't drag myself off the stream to be honest. Only one I could add is the ARK Starmap info video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eAD0liNeis (Just spent half an hour getting lost in the Starmap - it's awesome!)

Best general video summary of the Con that I've found (so far) is from Gamers Nexus: (contains mild swearing so may be NSFW for those listening on speakers)

Together with the same site's summary article here: http://www.gamersnexus.net/gg/2132-citizen-con-2015-squadron42-cast-multicrew-more

And finally, a pretty decent fan-based YouTuber 10 Minute Overview (despite being a little over 11 mins long) of the entire Con presentation from BuzZzKiller here:

Will work on a summary of the key points from the presentation slides and post them up later today.

I've been very concerned about this project since shortly after I backed it. All the controversy surrounding it at the moment isn't helping my confidence at all. I still hope it turns out alright though.
Did the info from the Con improve your confidence levels?

Well they finally showed stuff regarding the single player campaign, which is actually all I really care about, so I do feel a bit better now, but I'll still be skeptical until I get my hands on it. You really have to appreciate what they're trying to accomplish, though, it could be something really special.

So so bloody excited! Geez this video's did justice of all that waiting, makes me feel so salty towards elite dangerous, want my british pounds back so I can put it in a company that doesn't do a 180 and take away single player.

Only issue's that came out of citizen con.
1. Get rid of your referral system (they basically shafted all those that got their friends on the game).
2. They can dump the head bobble system with the FPS. You can notice from a dev point its really causing issues. (Due to dev's not initializing their code) Good example is when they get get in the retaliator bomber and a pilot gets in a gunner seat, camera goes all funky, or when they in the FPS with a weapon.

Otherwise god dam happy. Wish it was out now.

Opinions here if possible.
Thinking of trading the Freelancer and Cutlass for a RETALIATOR BOMBER.
Any thoughts?

I was under the impression it was just going to be like any other MMO. fuck around. do what you want. the the odd job for spending money.

MMO? You think I would back something that just an MMO? :p

Frankly I couldn't care less about the multiplayer component, I just want the single player (Squadron 42)

I think $45 is fairly reasonable for a AAA game. It's probably best to wait until it's actually finished though.

Have to agree with MetalSoup on both points.

$45 is a well decent price, especially when you consider that you're getting 2 games for that price - the SP Squadron 42 + the MP Star Citizen. (Pro tip: change the country selector to SA then the currency selector to EUR and save an extra R90! - $45=R630, €36=R540).

Also agree that if you're concerned about it you should wait until release to see if it's really something you want to spend money on. Only problem with that approach though is pricing may have gone up, and the two games may be separated.
