Rainbow Six: Siege - Any local servers? Worth Buying?

As per the title I was just wondering if anyone has got the game and if there are any locally hosted servers?

Is there a server listing page or is it purely matchmaking?

I'm interested in getting the game as I'm a huge fan of competitive team-based shooters like CSGO but I don't want to spend the cash for a sub-par experience of the game.

haha yea I read that article but they seem to have a solution to it that will be out soon at least. They must just treat it like CSGO and ban the teamkillers for ridiculous amounts of time depending on the frequency of the offense.
 
I love the idea of the game and the concept, not to mention it being a R6 game. But unfortunately I don't really see it working (for me) without friends, or people to co-ordinate with and communicate with. I just don't see it working as effectively with randoms.

Yup, thats whats keeping me from getting it, looks great, might pick it up in a year or two for bot play.
 
I found this one funny, me killing bots upside down. Its weird watching yourself play...I move like someone with Parkinsons...

 
Have to say, I enjoy lone wolf /2man coop against AI bots to be alot more fun than with 9 strangers that have no sense of tactics/communication.

I gave this a try over the free weekend, I loved it and now looking to get it, though I am looking/waiting for a special.

Yup, its fun, also damn hard at times, but that I like too, they bots arent a push over or walking targets. Esp on higher skill level. You need communication to play online. For me its just relaxing to play against the bots.

I saw you play over the weekend. (No dont try, you wont find the hidden cameras. :D ) I'll keep you in mind should I see a special.
 
I bought this a few weeks ago on PS4. I've played it a bit (not too much because I'm stuck into The Division at the moment), and it is cool, but really unforgiving. Of course being in SA, I always have the worst pings in the game, but it works fine (aside from enemies having a couple hundred ms jump on me). I must say, I don't much like the randoms, and I have on one evening encountered a good few team killing douchbags, but I'm keen to play some more.

So if anyone else has this on PS4, and would like to actually play as a team a bit, give me a shout.
 
Once i find a decent special(like the one that was on Steam and I could not buy), I shall get my friends to all buy it and we shall spend our lives just playing against bots. it's the best part, we enjoyed the Beta for that and it took us back to Vegas 2 Terrorist Hunt.

Strangely enough my mate and I that LAN often were fans of the Vegas 2 terrorist hunt...and I'm a fan of the siege terrorist hunt..but him not so much. He says it doesn't feel the same as vegas 2... to me it feels better, but to each his own I guess.

Maybe I can join you sometime in a T-hunt? :)

I have it on PS4. Played a lot of ranked matches. I love that game. Probably why I wear the Rainbow Six jacket in the Division. I have not played in a while but might get into it again. What is your PSN so I can add you and invite you some time?

yeah sure man will do. Once I get it some day. Looking for a lekke special. Summer sale? (but again, cannot buy it on our local steam store :()

I must warn you though, I'm still a total noob at this game, and I'm not even high enough level for ranked matches. My experience so far has mostly involved dying, although I haven't had a match yet where I was part of an actual team. Usually a bunch of randoms who just scatter. And a few team killers.

Even so, I also have the Rainbow Sixgear equipped in The Division.

Sweet will add you when I go online later. Should schedule a session of Siege sometime. Maybe over the long weekend or something. And no worries dude. I live for those games. Just stick with me and we will tactically destroy the enemy. Or die horribly...
