Plague Inc. Evolved

Thats a nice idea, but I'm getting this on STEAM sooner or later when I have some extra money. Oh and that news scrolling on the top is very funny and smart at times. Like that valve time one.

btw, the game can also serve as an educational tool:

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention appearance

In March 2013, James Vaughan, the developer of Plague Inc., was invited to talk at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about Plague Inc.[17] He spoke about how he had modeled the spread of infectious disease inside the game as well as how games like Plague Inc. can be used to inform and educate the public.

Following the talk, the CDC said that it was interested in Plague Inc. as "it uses a non-traditional route to raise public awareness on epidemiology, disease transmission, and diseases/pandemic information. The game creates a compelling world that engages the public on serious public health topics".[18]

Damn Russia decided to kill their own people, was the last country with people in it. Worked, they had short of 300 000 people left when they eradicated me :(

Anyone else feel a bit weird when playing this now?

I've known about Ebola (Marburg anyone?) for a long time, very interested in it, perhaps why I like the game so much. Always when playing, its in the back of my mind....what if.

I think the way they're handling the game limits its fun factor quite a lot. There should be more goals than just 'kill everyone.' By making the only win-scenario the eradication of humankind, it funnels you into finding optimal strategies for achieving only that and limits creative play. You can have a virus that eradicates the entirety of Eurasia, but still feel like you've accomplished nothing.

They should have added various other goals right from the start so that the game's focus isn't entirely on wiping out everyone on earth, but on creative play and finding different ways to achieve different goals.

I'm not sure if that makes complete sense when I put it that way, but in short I feel the single-minded goal of just wiping out humanity limits a game that otherwise has lots of potential.

No, I get what you mean, me for example, play the game for a few weeks, tire of it then leave it for a month or two, then start the cycle again. By adding something diffirent will add to the gameplay, kinda like building a virus for example that does something to specific countries or even perhaps fighting AGAINST a disease migth be fun.

Luckily the developer seems very keen on adding to the game, so who knows, he might release similar addons later.

Yeah I think you are right. Though some of the achievements require some different strategies to get.

Anyone seen the new mission on Plague? Where you must rescue the world from being too sad? You use a Neurax Worm to help people be happier.

Hey, they have added multiplayer to Plague Inc

Start getting excited - the multiplayer VS mode is coming for Plague Inc: Evolved on the 1st December. I know lots of people have been waiting for this - I can't wait to be able to play it with everyone

Here is a quick bit of information about how it all works and some very cool new artwork:

In VS. mode - the world is unlucky enough to be infected by two deadly plagues who are battling for control of the world! Whoever infects the world first wins but they must also avoid being cured by humanity or prematurely eradicated by the other plague!

There are many ways to become the ultimate plague. Will you spread slowly, stay under the radar and let humanity and your enemy battle it out, or be aggressive, fight the cure and use total organ failure to gather huge amounts of DNA? Or maybe you should focus all your efforts hunting down the other plague in order to wipe it out before it can spread at all. The genetic strategies are endless!

Players get all new evolutions, abilities and genes to help them in their struggle for dominance as well as slowing their opponent. Single player was just the start of the outbreak:
  • Unscheduled flight sends a plane full of infected people to a far off country
  • Immune shock overloads the immune system of people infected with both diseases - rapidly killing millions
  • Genetic Exposure lets you help humans develop a cure against your opponent.
  • And much more...
