Half-Life 3 listed in Steam Database

Prediction: either an epic troll, or devs just having some fun with test package names that were never meant to be publicly visible.

As someone commented on the article: Valve reserves 3 digit IDs for their own titles. This having AppID 366560 is therefor already suspect.

I think Half Life 3 will be released with the Steam VR when it goes commercial.

Of course chances are slim but it will break the internet.

Possibly, each iteration of Half Life (HL 1 it was GoldSrc; HL2 it was Source) had some hook into the latest and greatest tech. Either Valve is playing the long game in regards to figuring out exactly what the next big hook should be or they're just trolling.

Hell, even iD Software has been scratching their heads to move forward. Considering that iD Tech 5 engine is now 4 years old and according to Carmack "...the hardware that is capable of id Tech 6 did not yet exist..."

So I'll wait till Valve or some other dev uses Source 2 to develop a FPS or 3rd Person Action title using that engine before I'll get excited about the possibility of HL3. We know it is supposed to be epic. But it could be a Duke Nukem Forever

Half Life For3v3r

But yeah this isn't evidence enough, there have been numerous breadcrumbs like this in the past and then it turned out to be nothing. I'll wait for something more concrete before getting hyped.
