Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak

WHAT?! I can hardly contain my excitement for this! I absolutely LOVED the Homeworld games and always hoped for some surface action in the game's universe... This looks incredible! I'm still cautious of Grey Goo, but this looks countless times better.

I didn't see any combat in 3D space?

Also reminds me of Dune series

Is it the same as this or separate game? edi t- Nope - got renamed

No it should mostly be ground combat.

The game is set on the desert planet of Kharak, the home-in-exile of the Kushan (Hiigaran) people, one hundred years prior to the events of Homeworld. A Kushan satellite detects an anomaly in the Great Desert, later revealed to be an ancient crashed starship. An expedition is sent by the "Coalition of the Northern Kiithid" into enemy territory to investigate, under the leadership of chief science officer Rachel S'jet (an ancestor of Karan S'jet, the protagonist of the original games).

Yeah I get the Homeworld vibe from it as well. The Z axis in this game is actually useful now compared to the space game.

its R489 or R391 (There is a 20% loyalty discount for owners of the Homeworld Remastered Collection.)
Where?

I'm seeing it as 30 GBP or 50 USD in the steam store...less 20%

Didn't buy the remastered though as the reviews said the game mechanics were broken.

Either way it can wait a bit...just bought SC2 and D3.

On the SA Steam Store. The pricing is way better now that Steam supports Rands.

Not really that broken... I finished Homeworld 1 and it was perfect for me. I played Homeworld so long ago that I couldn't remember that much about the game mechanics, so the experience I got lived up quite well to modern standards.

Besides, if you preorder Deserts of Kharak you receive a free copy of Homeworld Remastered, so it's still worth it. :)

Wait... I thought this was going to be an expansion on the Remaster?

This seems completely new, I like it... will look out for it.
