Thanks for the link, I had a look. I see their prices are basically exactly the same as all the other prices I have seen around on other sites. I'm not in such a big hurry, so for now I'll wait for some special to roll around. :)

Just please be careful on carbonite these days. I am a regular user and dealer. There is a group/family of scammers targeting carbonite. So just be careful and use common sense

Ah yes, the Groenewalds. They are the scum of the earth. The link I posted is from a guy with a very good iTrader score though so definitely not a scammer.

Ahh you said the G word.. not long now and they will be on here!
True that, just wanted to warn in case he sees another too good to be true deal!

Oh noes! I hope they stay away. :) But yes, it's probably a good idea to warn people who are new to Carbonite to stay away from things that look too good to be true. And if it is the case that it's too good to be true, make sure the user has a good iTrader score but use common sense.

I am not even a big fan if this iTrader stuff.
I have had a few "groot koppe" with high iTraders wanting to buy stuff from me. They demand that I ship the item, and they only pay once it has arrived. I do not care about your iTrader then if I do not know you personally ! So it's a difficult thing these scammers are causing

Thanks for the warning Flex, I didn't know that. Only created a Carbonite account now, and I don't have access to anything while logging in now, the admins probably still have to activate/approve my account?

Yup need to be approved, and then read the rules before you can do anything

lol we'll never do a deal on carb then. It's got nothing to do with "groot koppe". It takes a long time to build up a high iTrader. In fact it's taken me 5 years to get over 200. Tons of face to face deals, that means running around, driving around, spending a lot of time on the phone, meeting people when it suits them ect. You work to get a high iTrader and yes once you're established you can set the terms of the deal.

I have never been scammed, I've been a member there for 5 years going on 6. Why haven't I been scammed? Maybe it's because I use a little bit of common sense. Yes the groenewald clowns are a problem, but if you use just a little bit of common sense you'll never get hooked by them. People don't bother reading the rules and they somehow think because they're on a forum with mods they don't have to worry about things like scammers...I mean really?...lol

I agree with you. But think you misunderstood what i said. If yo have high iTrader and want to do the deals in a fair way for both traders then thats perfect. But some of the guys expect the others to go out of their way and do everything their way and demand it. ITrader is there for the trust factor i think. Not to abuse it as a token of power in deals. Hope that makes more sense

Mate you have to sacrifice to get anywhere in life and it's much the same on carb. I never ever ship an item before cash is in my account and cleared. Same goes for when I'm buying, I'll only happily pay money over to someone if said buyer has more than 50 Positive Itraders and at least 2 years membership as a min requirement.

Also it's not abuse, like I mentioned, I had to go through all the stuff new users have to go through, I've now gotten to a point where I set the terms of the deal. If people aren't happy then so be it, but 99% of the time guys are more than happy to play by my rules.

Carb has a great community, there are some bad apples and then of course some shit people like the groenewalds but all in all it's a great place to do deals if you do your homework and if you use a little common sense.

I tend to disagree with you, the buyer wanted me to post the item. And only pay once he received the it. I do not know him from anywhere, name or any other details. So all I am saying is, he would not have wanted to do the deal that way if he did not have those iTraders. iTrader is just a button people press and write a few comments. But I do not know what kind of character that person has. Deals must be done in a fair manner,, so that both are happy. Like you said, you only ship once you have the money, I was expected to ship before being payed at all. Get what I am saying?

I completely understand.
You buy and sell as you see fit, that's your choice and it's completely fine.
Also do yourself a favor, go read some of my feedback on carbonite. You'll see why Itrader is hugely important. People may just write one liners but it'll tell you exactly how the deal went, whether buyer/seller was happy and also whether the buyer seller can be trusted.

You can learn a lot just by reading someones Itrader history.

I agree 100%. Just put me a bit off when someone has demands to do a deal that way, with no other alternatives or suggestions. But you are correct, I guess iTrader is important somehow

I only buy from people with a positive iTrader that's been there for a while and have a good history. I bought my screen through there a couple of years back and now my monster pc too.
