So if Flex comes last in his 1950's car and I come first with my batmobile then he will at least get some bonus points.(if he was the only one driving it)
I'm still for keeping everything simple but then I know people like the added restrictions.

I can see the point of making the hardmode something that you can compete with the normal challenge if you are good enough so that it is still 1 challenge and not 2 dif challenges world apart. Still not keen on the 2 challenges in 1 weeks challenge, but if you want to do it then go about it a different way that makes more sense. As [MENTION=20]Solitude[/MENTION] pointed out above =D

The additional challenge each week is a strictly optional one. As challenger, you have the option of adding something extra, or just keep it simple. The object is not to confuse or make admin harder, it's to keep things interesting and keeps the challenges from stagnating. The last thing I want is that week after week we just take the same cars or the fastest cars and race. It has its merits, but I want this to be fun.
So, the bonus challenge (I like that name more than Hard Mode, thanks [MENTION=385]diabolus[/MENTION]) will be absolutely optional. The leaderboard times are the only ones we will base any and all points on. So, at the end of the week, if your fastest time is set within the parameters of the bonus challenge, you will get 5 additional points. If you do a better time with another car based on the week's normal challenge, you will get the normal points. It's not to confuse or make things more complicated. The fastest time for the track for the class will still be the one you are awarded points on.

This is exactly the point yes. Gives you something to think about. You can keep things simple and straight forward, or do you go for broke with the hope of added points.
Will wait patiently for my turn though.

Sorry if this sounds daft but I would just like to check if bonus points are awarded to the fastest time posted under the bonus challenge restrictions or if all bonus challenge participants will get bonus points?

Do agree, 5 points really is a lot. Maybe bit too much? He can set 1 ridiculously slow lap, and the guy in 5th rode his ass off with a normal car and gets less points. That's why i think the bonus should allow guys to still be competitive, but more difficult. So that if he gets those bonus points he really deserved it, and did not do it just to get points

2nd this query. If I post the 7th fastest clean lap, using a car that conforms to the challenge, and is a pre-1950s model, I get Challenge points for 7th place + 5 bonus points? Or do bonus points only go to P1 if he used a bonus car?
Personally, i would think, the fastest using the restrictions get the bonus points.
i.e. Class R with bonus: 1950s car only.
Piet : top time in a ferrari ---> gets points for being 1st
Koos : 2nd time in a ferrari ----> gets points for being 2nd
Jan : 3rd time in a 1950 car ----> gets bonus points + whatever you get for being 3rd
Gert : 4th time in a 1950 car ----> no bonus points + whatever you get for being 4th
Jaco : 5th time in a ferrari ---> gets points for being 5th

As long as they are in the same class then that would work yes
Well all challenges will always be a specific class . So yes, they need to be on the same leaderboard.

I still think that it's added complexity that's not needed. That it could have been two separate challenges or that it could have been just the one with the fifties cars since that's filterable.
But then, I like the simple things in life.
Agree with you 100%. Trying to get it back the way the challenges were originally, as it worked 100%. But does not look like that will happen. Oh well

What exactly was it originally? I thought it always was
1] Track
2] Class
3] Cars selection
4] Tunes/Assist restrictions
...how is this any different? We only added the optional bonus for using a specific car selection , it really can't be simpler. Most people can just ignore the bonus and race the best car...nothing strange.

Seriously, the bonus thing is not that complicated, i think you guys really are just being difficult now. It's not only optional, but totally ignorable. Just race your preferred car and get your best time...simple.

The amount of questions connected to this challenge gives me some indication of what is to come I don't mind what I drive or where. This is just what happened. Take it or leave it
