Can't find a 1950s car to upgrade to R. Highest is S the Ferrari 375. Or am I missing something?

diabolus Am I missing something? What 1950s Class R did you manage to find?

The Bonus is for a Car in the 1950s though is it not?

Ok, great , so then it is simple,

-----------------------------------------------------
Track : Silverstone GP, in the rain
Class : R
Cars : Any
Tuning : Any

BONUS/HARD : Doing this in a car from 1950-1959 (look under Lotus for fun examples of this)
------------------------------------------------

And as we previously mentioned, it will make sense if the bonus challenge car is in same class as the main challenge. I can't find any 1950s car that can upgrade to class R. Please let me know what 1950s car you saw that can upgrade to Class R for your bonus challenge diabolus

Huh? Since when was that ever a rule that if the Class is X , that the car must be from Class X , you yourself drove your best time last week in a Class E car in a Class C challenge.... why is this now suddenly confusing? I never stated the car can not be upgraded into Class R...

I think you do not understand how the classes work or something. I used the same class as all the other people, as it was a class specific challenge. So not sure what you are talking about. Quickly look at what you said here.

Well all challenges will always be a specific class . So yes, they need to be on the same leaderboard. "

If you set a class challenge for class R, then you can use any vehicle that can upgrade to be class R, or use a car that is already in class R.
But according to your bonus challenge, and you stating above that the bonus challenge must be in same class as the main challenge. There is no 1950s car that can upgrade to class R. Make sense? Can someone please assist DieGrootHammer perhaps? As this is just getting more effort than anything else now

Screw it, leave the bonus then. I thought you could upgrade all cars to classes above it, seems not. So just vanilla challenge then.

Actually just pick a challenge, i'm out, this is way too much hassles.

I do not understand.... I thought it was simple? That is why I was trying to help, but you were just being very rude and condescending every time you replied for some reason. Even though I was polite and trying to be helpful each time. Not quite sure why though?

Back to square 1, as someone that set their own challenge did not understand their own rules and did not want to keep it simple :/

No hassles really. Track, class, car, assists. Easy as that. Quite simple actually :P

I just upgraded the Chevrolet Bel-Air 1957 to R Class, so i still don't see what the problem is...but anyow, continue with a different challenge.

That is all I asked for bud, an example. As I bought the highest rated 1950s car and it could not upgrade to class R so thought it was not possible

i leave this thread alone due to IRL stuff and you decent into anarchy....wow....

I am truly disappointed. Here I thought the Forza challenge will be a fun little thing between friends to do. It's worked in the past so why not now right.....WRONG!!!! Every week someone seems to find something to complain about and make this into such a complicated mess. I'm sorry, but I'm disappointed and really annoyed as to what has happened here this week.

Let me tell you all my thinking. I do not like the boring challenges as they are right now. I can see whats going to happen; we are going to get to a point where it's just everyone in something like 2 or 3 cars that are actually the fastest cars for the class, trying to compete, and in all honesty, that will become quickly boring. I don't want this challenge to become a race-by-number thing. I don't want to have to use the same car over and over again, or only take the cars that are actually the fastest for the class, because that's boring. I want to drive something exciting, something difficult, something challenging, something fun.

So I though; hey, why not introduce a Bonus challenge where the challenger can add a COMPLETELY OPTIONAL set of rules that will be added to the current challenge. And to sweeten the deal for that, I'll award 5 points to each person that does the challenge. Simple right?.....

So that was my thinking. That is my honest opinion. That is what I was aiming for. I thought, hey, this is a group of really cool people and we can totally wing some additional rules with no problem. I mean its not like we are competing for a prize or anything. Well, it seems not.

The Forza subreddit had a very similar challenge that they ran for a few months. After a while it was stopped because people got bored with the normal "race in class" challenge, and the participation has dwindled. So to keep things fresh and going, why not do something interesting here?

I am not here to point fingers, I am not here to police anyone, I am not here to marshal every and any decision. I'm here to race against mates and have a good time. And that's all we should be focusing on. Nothing else!

With all that said and done here is what I propose:

*All Challenges will be set and restricted only by something Forza can filter on. These are Class, Year and Manufacturer. When it's your chance to add a challenge, this is the only stuff you pick. You pick the Class that the cars are limited to, and if you like, and Year or any Manufacturer you like. That is it. No other restrictions will be allowed within the challenge.

*It will happen that there is a time already logged on the track by someone. We've played the game long enough to have raced pretty much on every track with a multitude of cars, so I'm sure people will have trouble with additional times. Should that happen, and your time cannot be beaten in that week, we will require a screenshot of the lap

*If you want to challenge the community to a mini challenge which does not form part of the normal weekly challenge, we can make an arrangement with the communities permission. Just let me know and we'll talk it out.

Now, Flex, diabolus, Solitude, BeoTeK, deadlypinecone, GregRedd, McPhil, Blazzok, Meteor, and anyone I may have missed, kiss and make-up, and let's have ourself a nice friendly race, shall we? We are not enemies here.

Just not keen on a guy making a challenge. And when i ask for example of car get a condicending reply. I agree it should be fun. But sifting through many cars just to see what is upgradable and what's not more tha actually racing. I do not consider that fun

Well when i created the challenge i did not go check what cars can be upgraded, my assumption has always been that most cars can be upgraded to a higher class (and part of the fun is finding out for yourself what cars to use for this) . So yea, below is what my intention was with the bonus part, and even upgraded to Class R this would have been quite a difficult/interesting challenge in these cars...

Anyway, as DieGrootHammer stated, i also agree just putting down a vanilla challenge every week with variation on class/track will get old soon, and for some of us that has had this game since Sept 2015, it is probably old already. Forza 6 got some of the most cars a driving game has and somewhere one has to make it so that people are forced to explore a different set of cars.

However, since there are new players , it sounded good to keep things a bit more flexible , so that the ones that have done the track+fastest car to death, have a chance to play a more interesting variation of it, while still keeping everyone involved.

Not going to keep on posting here in this :) as i told you in msg. I bought 3 and not 1 of them could upgrade to R unfortunately. So had to go through more to try find that can.

Right, now that we're back to racing...

Do the puddles and standing water on the circuit ever change, move, clear? Or are they always going to be in exactly the same place and size regardless of how many laps I do in a session?

And am I right in assuming that the most suitable tyres for the track and conditions are automatically fitted to my car? I can't find a tyre choice setting.

The puddles are always in the same place. :) As for the tyres I unfortunately do not know. I've never done any actual tuning myself.

I've read on the forza forums that racing tyres (slicks) are automatically converted to wets for rainy tracks. Stock and sports tyres apparently stay as is.

If you are racing an open wheeled car you should be able to verify this but I havent looked myself.
