Neither.

You can just click Play Game/Install Game (whatever the button is called, and it will be added to your Library). Only on the next step will it ask you to install, then you can just cancel/close the window.

In hindsight, this plan may not work out as expected... From the Idle Master FAQ:

Can Idle Master be used to get card drops for F2P games on Steam?
Free to play (F2P) games on Steam are only eligible for trading card drops when you make purchases in-game. Cards drop at a rate of 1 card for every $9 spent in-game or on DLC purchases. If you are eligible for card drops made from purchases, Idle Master will idle these games like any other (and prioritize them accordingly).

My confirmation email was in my inbox before I had even clicked to move to my gmail tab (heard on phone). Maybe try again, the games take up to 24 hours to be sent tho :)
 
Eish, you know you are old when you have to hit "page down" twice when entering your year of birth on an age verification for a site... Just happened to me on Make War Not Love...

No need, it came through after about 10 minutes. Their email servers are probably backed up, that's all.
 
I received my confirmation email really quick, but I am still waiting for my Steam Code email to come through.

Hi there, just a quick one in case anyone else has tried this.

I linked the first 3 pages of all the F2P steam games with cards to my account and just started up idle master and none of those games are idling, so i'm not sure if it works.
