Hiking boots:
Food sources may be in areas where you'd not want to tread barefooted.
Knife:
It simply never runs out of ammo and has many uses; a multitool
Rope:
Tie up one while hunting another or make a makeshift raft - you have a knife at your disposal, no?
Another multi-use item.
Insect repellent:
Malaria in mosquitoes are a real threat, not to mention whatever else lurks out there -- rather be safe than sorry, uh...

Surviving on the island is not a long term solution. You want to get out into the shipping lanes so you can be rescued.
Inflatable raft: To get away from the island to the shipping lanes. Assuming the island has some palm trees, break off branches to use as shade on the raft.
Flare gun: Once you get away and (hopefully) into some shipping lanes, you can use this to attract their attention.
Water purifier: To get some all important water, without it you won't last long. Obviously you can't purify salt water, so you will have to dig some holes on the island and hope you can find fresh water, and then purify that.
Knife: Break open coconuts for the flesh and milk, and they can also be used to put purified water in for later. Dig some clams out of the sand and open them up for food, catch a crab or 2.

I was thinking along the lines of this too! I would go for:
Raft - Get off the Island
Flare gun - Signal passing ships
Water purifier - Desalinate the seawater
Fishing Rod - For catching fish

I wanted to do that as well, but it is just a water purifier, it can't purify salty sea water. You need a water still for that :/
I also had the fishing rod at first, however you would need some kind of bait to catch fish and the probability is probably not so good to catch something, hence I decided on the knife and to get food while on the island itself.

I thought of that too at first but I don't trust the ocean. So Ima go with:
Knife - Multi Purpose
Flare Gun - In Case a Ship does pass by
Water Purifier - Because water is the essence of wetness
Rope - Multi Purpose (In case I change my mind and decide to build myself a raft)

Seeing as we are going for survival the obvious choices would be:
5 ounces of weed- Panicking in these stressful situations never helps anyone
Ipod - You need some sweet melodies to keep you motivated
Volleyball - Doesn't need an explanation, the top of every survivalists shopping list
Toilet paper - Always good to stay hygienic

Pot Rod, rifle and knife.
Can make anything else I need using the above.
Pot:
Cooking and water purification as well as storage for any possible excess food.
Rod:
Fishing line has many uses.
Can also fish with it.
Rifle:
No idea what/who else is on the island with me.
Can hunt if no aggressive people.
