Samsung's portable 2TB SSD

I can't wait for SSD to surpass ram in speed. I really hope the future has machines that no longer need ram.

Besides that though, at present I really don't see much use for a 2tb portable SSD, especially at that price.

Pretty much. This isn't targeted at consumer's right? Realistically, who is going to buy that?

What do you even need a portable 2TB SSD for?
Since it is quite new, the price will be that high, just wait and we will all have portable ssd's in the future.

But surely the speed on the USB isn't near as fast as that of an SSD's read/write rate?

So it kinda negates the point, does it not?

If i remember correctly USB3 can theoretically clock up to 5Gbps which isn't much slower than SATA.

I don't even have a SSD in my desktop yet. :p

I still don't think that a portable SSD makes a lot of sense. If you're transferring large files, just use a portable HDD. USB3 models are common now, and are quite fast considering for price.
