Lol, What i dont like about microsoft is that sometimes u are forced to buy an xbox... just cuz there are a few games only released for the xbox like fable 2, gear of war 2. Theres no choice but to buy both... But i mean... ps3 u also getting the blu ray player so thats a bonus in there

What utter twaddle! Nobody is holding a gun to your head and threatening to shoot you unless you buy an XBox 360. You're the one who chooses to do this.

But then I got another one and I actually enjoy Xbox, I find the controller to be better!

xbox 360 has a higher than 50% failure rate, so I'd be careful about that "never statement", personally never had any issues, but my sister's house is on their 3'rd xbox 360 elite already, so all things considered....

switched from xbox to ps3slim now, and i must say, the one thing i miss, the xbox encoded EVERYTHING to dolby digital 5.1, and sent that through the optical out

ps3 does not do this, it just sends everything through the optical in the format it's in, problem for me, because my av receiver has to be manually set on which decoder mode to use

also, i think the ps3slim software is still a bit buggy, sound doesn't always actually work, like, you'd select dts on a bluray disc, receiver is set to dts, no sound, i'd turn the console off and on, restart the movie, and voillah, sound... rather annoying...

LOVING the return of wipeout to the ps3 though! was the one game i was hoping would release

I have to say Ps3 slim it was always the better hardware the price is what put me off.
but now between that and the Elite slim anyday.
Developers have more room to grow with the hardware on the Ps3.

Considering I bought one of the first UK XBox 360s I must say that this doom and gloom seems a well, mere naysaying. The XBox 360 failure rate is more around 20%, for starters.

As for the slim, its probably finally the step in the right direction that Sony needed. Time will tell, unfortunately 23 million owners are still stuck with the original. Oh well, that's life, innit?

Apparently that is not true either, the PS3 is notoriously difficult to programme for. As such most games done take advantage of any supposed potential that exists. It does not help to use and overly complex chip when the architecture surrounding it just doesn't allow for enough room to expand. I think Sony got it very wrong and hopefully their next incantation will take note and ensure a complete solution that isn't just focused on the CPU.
