Your Gaming Confessions

I came across this old article on PC Gamer the other day about confessing their "secret shames" : Link
For example their one writer admits that he hates all the Diablo games, another states that as long as a game isn't running below 30FPS he doesn't really care about frame rate.

What are some of your gaming confessions?

One of mine is - as much as I love long and involved games (e.g. RPG's) I'm increasingly appreciative of shorter games. My gaming time is limited and so I tend to lose interest in a game (no matter how good it is) if it takes me weeks to finish.

Another is that I find League of Legends far more enjoyable than Dota 2. Dota has always felt a bit like a chore whereas when I was into League I definitely had times where I was having a tremendous amount of fun.
 
I was kinda expecting some dirty little secrets.. Sounds more like personal preferences. Okay i confess, i don't like MOBA communities.

But on a more serious note. I pretended to be a girl in wow for about 2 months. This was in the first couple of months after the launch in 2005. The guild leader just assumed I'm female because i played a female character. I did nothing to correct his mistake because he kept sending me cool stuff and gold on a daily basis. Had to break the news to him after a friend invited me to a South African guild on a different server.

Ya, I'm kinda stretching the definition of "confession" like they did in the article. I suppose the "secret shames" are in not conforming to the stereotypical gamer profile.

I use trainers/cheats in many (singleplayer) games on PC. If I could cheat on console as well I would.
 
I rate myself pretty highly on my skill level of playing games. I HATE the deus ex franchise as i couldn't make it past the tutorial of DEus Ex and you couldnt skip it. I havent played a deus ex games since.
 
I hate WoW tried it several times on friend's request (up to level 27) - so boring, so weak imo. I like something that involve skill and tactics and therefore I loved Conan - my PC got stolen and after replacing it, I am not willing to download gazillion GB on a LTE capped account.
Love D&D and the whole concept of it - played it on paper and think NWN 1 is the best computer D&D game ever created - better than Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale combined. I prefer older games - the play ability is awesome and that is what counts for me - fun. I do not care if I have 8-bit pix-elated objects to interact with as long as it is fun. Privateer simply provided some of my best memories and I still think there is no space sim (in its complete form) that holds a candle to it. The rest of the Wing commander series just sucked in comparison and took the whole awesome concept of Privateer away. Freelancer had a few elements in from Privateer and I truly believe it was an attempted Privateer rip-off. I liked Dungeon Siege far more than Diablo and Duke 3D billion times more than Quake.
 
I played a lot of WoW at University (especially in my 3rd, 4th and 5th years). It nearly made me fail my course. I started playing because it looked interesting, then I stayed for the community and friendships I had built. I eventually quit the game somewhere in 2014, because my wife was pregnant and I knew that I wouldn't have the time anymore to spend in the game.

The days of spending 3 or 4 hours non stop playing WoW would be over, so I might as well quit and get used to it.

Those were some good times though :)
 
People that rage in games makes my blood boil!Especially FPS and MOBA games, they are the top when it comes to rage people.
 
1. I've never played any Fallout game... ever!
2. I don't like the Final Fantasy franchise as of yet, and hadn't tried any of them until a year and a half ago when I tried one hour of FF XIII, probably did more than good since I despised the entire experience, combat in particular, and while I'm told the game isn't a great place to start or a great game (period), I'm also told some of the gameplay mechanics are kind of a staple of the franchise, barring a few oddities. So yeah, I'll probably be as "meh" about FFXX in a decade as I am with FFXV:rolleyes:

I'm sorry, I thought this was gaming confessions. So far everyone is just talking about gaming PREFERENCES.

And yeah, I said it. Sometimes after I shower (particularly in summer) I'll be too lazy to put clothes on coz its hot and humid where I am, so i'll sit in my towel (it falls off quick :p) and I'll wanna play something, or invited to join a csgo lobby. :D

I confess that I have bought games thinking "I am sure my wife will play this with me" knowing full well there is no way in hell that will happen.
