The Division Thread

Got up to level 5 while working on the story missions. Some of those encounters would be much easier in a group.

Isengard and i played a bit tonight but soon realised it's much more fun doing the missions on harder difficulty. So far so good :D

Tried the matchmaking for one of the missions. Wasnt too bad except i got my char killed twice because of stupid planning.

My current char and loadout

Meh

I've crashed twice so far (played about an hour). For some reason the game also randomly turns my keyboard back-lighting on and off, which is kind of annoying.

I just got past the tutorial part now. Would have liked to be able to spend some more time in the game, but it is sleeping time.

MalicE and myself had the same issue with our G13. There is an option in-game to enable/disable this, it's a feature on some keyboards.

Also, when you say crash, do you mean disconnect or program error?

I highly recommend you guys watch the intel videos that you collect, they add a lot of perspective and are pretty well done.

yeah that feature I enabled during the beta's but it never worked. So I freaked out a bit when my G13 became self-aware :p

Well it exited the game completely, so my PC went back to desktop. Not sure if a disconnect will cause that? I didn't receive any errors though, it just exited.

What is the setting/feature supposed to do? I saw the setting but forgot to turn it off when my keyboard started acting up.

well after monitoring it for a while I figured it out and find it actually quite cool

First thing I noticed was that it changed my light colour to the Division colour (I usually run red lights)

It also dims the light during cutscenes

And then it flashes during combat when you are being attacked... or taking damage....

There might be more but that's all I could make out in the hour I had to play

Yeah, I love the way they're done. I'm really going for a role play and immersive experience here.
My oke is a darkie from the bronx with tattoos, piercings and the ghetto hair. I'm also exploring a helluva lot and as a result, ending up in some some shady parts of town and being underleveled. I'm collecting everything I find, watching everything I come across and analyzing all the echoes.

Managed to play through the Tutorial (Brooklyn), so far so good. For Xbox One owners, it's about 2.5GB download if you buy the disc, which is not bad.

I was a bit weary of playing a shooter like this with a controller, but seems this game has been very "MMO'fied" with the targeting + time-to-kill and options you have in combat. So it's definitely not Battlefield/COD/Battlefront type of twitch trigger reflexes, in fact enemies take almost too long to drop, but it does makes things alot more tactical as you need to plan alot of things knowing you can't just one-shot things.

Strange, I don't recall seeing a benchmark option on mine?

You can enable the fps overlay in uplay settings.

I'm a bit worried about the longevity of this game. Kill trash, kill 1 or 2 elites, kill named boss, rince and repeat. It's gonna get boring after a while.

Yeah I saw that, I normally have the GF Experience FPS on by default. I just thought there was a benchmark option in game.

No that looks like an in-game benchmark tool. I didn't even notice it... With the tweaks I posted yesterday I have the game bottoming out at about 58 fps and going up to about mid 90's at it's highest. Pretty satisfied with the results.

There is a benchmark tool in game under the options menu.
