Dark Souls

Quite a good article today over at Rock, Paper, Shotgun

First, to briefly recap: Dark Souls is a hard-as-nails fantasy game where you’re trying the save a doomed world – for a bit longer, at least – and will die many times. It’s a gorgeous and surprising world with an intricate layout and great worldbuilding and careful combat and you’ve heard all that. But an RPG?

tried to start a new game last night while waiting for my Division to update, but the entire thing seems broken since they patched out GFWL :(

You have to change your game to opt into a "beta"

Think it's something like: right click game > properties > opt-in > then drop down list and select <some number>_beta





Something like that :p

....huh?

no it's just broken

first it deleted my char. now the controller won't work and when I start the game it's running in a little box in the top left corner
 
Soooo, I've never actually finished Dark Souls. I think I got about halfway before I stopped.

Now everyone's playing Dark Souls 3 and I'm way behind. I'm thinking that I will take the time to not only finish the first game but to start from scratch.

Also I'm not starting now but want to start in about a month's time. First I want to see if I can get other people who never finished it to join me. It gives you time to finish the games that you want to finish now and make you look forward to the experience.

Who's with me?
 
There's something iffy at the moment with the servers, so this may pose a problem. Otherwise I'm keen for it. I know [MENTION=5134]MalicE[/MENTION] wanted to as well. If the online functionality doesn't work I'm happy to do a side-by-side playthrough with you (or anyone else). Got Teamspeak, so that could work.

But please, this is a rather large undertaking, if you plan to do this and are serious, please try and schedule a set day and time a week to try and get some form of progress and accomplishment.

yeah, soon as I get my game fixed. will try again tonight.

I saw something about DS1 being offline
