The Division Thread

I think they I way you can tag players with notes or something. I had 6 items in the dark zone, was literally holding F down to extract and someone kills me. Now I wasn't pissed off or anything, it goes with being in the dark zone and kind of the point. But when i get back, I see all my items are now lying on the ground, and the guy who took them from me had been killed. I pick up my items and proceed to call the heli again. And then hear, "Grievous, we have your back". I would love to be able to tag them with "owe them" or something, just in case I come across them again.

That's so awesome.

Was also watching/listening to The Lobby earlier and they were talking about people being douchebags and purposefully running in front of your fire to make you go rogue then kill you to get the better XP and you loose a fuckton dying as rogue. But like they say, seems they are few and far between. People are more interested in working through the DZ hassling the NPC's over other players, that player base is larger than the people wanting to go rogue.

Yeah the dark zone still needs some balancing, but its loads of fun most of the time. It needs a certain amount of people to be going rogue. If you on your own, you start to feel really tense if you carrying loot.

That's the key. The DZ needs people to go rogue. It's such a big part of what makes it fun. At the moment almost no one is willing to do it.

Watched a video posted earlier about the possibility of people creating secondary characters purely to go rogue all the time. That would also suck. They need to find a way to keep it balanced.

Offer incentive to go rogue, make it worth your while, but always make sure that the consequences of failure outweigh those of success.

My current issue, is one of the pick up points is really close to a check point. So you can go rogue, get killed and get back in less than minute and not be rogue anymore. last night i was killed, he got killed after, and then comes back. Kind of feel this spot will breed people go rogue, and you can keep doing it until it pays off. You can see him, you know what he's about to do again, but you can do nothing. Just feel he wasn't really punished because he didn't even have to run far to get back. I think possibly if you go rogue, you can't choose the closest way point to spawn on if you die, would sort this out.

It's extremely punishing if you die as a rogue. If you survive a few levels you get some DZ currency, maybe a decent item from the downed player. If you die, you end up going down a level in XP, DZ keys, currency, items etc. It's too punishing at the moment. I'm not a fan of everyone going rogue either, but it's a core part of the experience. The balance just needs to be figured out.

I have to agree. I watched a live stream last night of this guy who went manhunt status and only received 2.6k credits when his timer finally ran out. That doesn't seem close to being worth it because of how much you lose when you eventually die as a rogue. That's why i'm not in any hurry to "PvP" atm

I see you guys need rogues, why don't you get a few blops3 players to start playing the game they will sort you out one time just be sure to mute them because you don't want to here what comes out of there cake holes lol.

At the moment the DZ is not functioning as the developers intended, that's all. It's essentially just another PvE zone.

okay people. i am about to buckle. despite my best efforts to avoid all chatter around The Division, I think i have to give it a go. its just that i am finding it tough to cough up almost a grand for a game :(

it's only R599 :D

I kinda find it amusing how the DZ ended up now, it's currently a true PvE zone shared with other players , like with WoW and other MMOs . I don't see why they couldn't make the entire game like this? As it is, the real PvE zones are just you , alone (or your group) , and then in the DZ suddenly you see all the random players , but you are still doing the exact same thing (exploring the streets, killing NPCs, random missions).

Also a tip i guess, the DZ actually do seem to have level ranges , i'm only lvl 12, and i only see lvl 1-14 players in the DZ. So don't wait until lvl 30 to try the DZ! Last night at least 10 of us spent the whole night just calling in the extraction, killing the mobs that appear (grabbing their loot), calling the chopper again, repeat, ....quite hilarious ...so no one is shooting each other.

I wandered into the DZ, picked up a military jacket and bailed. It's disappointing, the jacket looks like the other 50 jackets I already own.

Yeah, they all have a color palette of military grays, greens and browns. Though I do have a white one and purple ^_^

I am around that level 13 and DZ has been pretty friendly. Everyone was getting on great for hours then as everyone is trying to attach stuff for extraction two guys chuck a grenade and no one could detach fast enough. The grenade hit 4 or 5 guys and chaos ran true. I died pretty quickly and lost my first scarf and a bunch of blues.

Don't get to relaxed in the DZ :)

So after 30 hours we finally hit level 30 :D. Still two zones and a final mission to complete before we start end game gearing.

Yeah, I'm on about 37 hours and just hit level 25. I find you get a crap tonne of EXP for doing all those side missions.

I like the way they've done it. It would be chaos if you had other players running aroung on your PvE map. Imagine going to do an encounter and then there is somebody already doing it. Then you have to wait for it to reset....

So tempting to buy.. but still don't know if i need to get it for PC or PS4, such a hard choice.
