[MyGame] Dark Souls

sounds like an awesome initiative! i am ashamed to confess that i never completed DS1 :( When does the challenge start ? I will join you guys if i can get DS1 during the Steam Summer Sale. hope i wont be too far behind.

yeah no prob. I have too many games I'm playing at the moment as it is. also gives me more time to fix my game...

So far it's starting 7 May in order to get more people and to give people a chance to finish their current games. Man I would love to get you a copy but I promised one to someone else for now. Will have to see how that goes.

I'm also using mine and have run into an issue where it doesn't detect the controller. I have found two possible fixes:

1. Many guides and recommendations are to (in device manager) disable the HID Human Interface Device associated with the controller. From my experiences this has not hamped any other games or it's functionality.

2. I tried this last night and it actually worked seamlessly, run Steam in Big Picture mode and then start up the game. The controller worked fine.

Good, because I do still have an Xbox 360 remote in the off chance I don't get the One controller to work. Would much rather play with the One controller though.

Also, why do I get that feeling of, you know, like just before you jump of a cliff bungie jumping, and you are quietly kakking yourself...
 
where did you guys all get your copies from? its R300 bucks on Steam and R199 on XBONE, but not PTDE :(

Naah, it's not that bad.... maybe you can get to a phase in your Souls career like me at a certain point in Souls 3, I stopped and took a deep breath when I saw a certain place/thing, literally, my heart was racing.

Sadly not, you'll have to buy it for X360 along with Artorias of The Abyss DLC. I would strongly recommend getting the DLC as well.

The online community says that this is now obsolete.. Is the beta mode really required? I have PvP watchdog/DSFix installed with my ports forwarded... still no nodes/bloodstains/signs..

We could probably use the DSCM mod to connect for co-op..

How do you go about connecting your X1 controller to the PC? I have a X360 controller for PC (and thus the USB pod thingy), but also prefer the feel of the X1 controller. I mean, when I turn on my X1 controller, it turns on my Xbox :D

I know I said I wouldn't join, but dammit if I'm not a sucker for peer pressure. I'm also in for now, hopefully I can get some time somewhere. Also on PC.

Including a TS server in the OP would also be great. Not sure if we can use the Grim Wolves TS for this [MENTION=2530]Wyvern[/MENTION]?
 
Mini USB cable. Same as most cell phones use these days?

PS: Take the batteries out.

I'm Going to be loving this, I would join but I just finished 2 last night planing on 3 , prob gonna cave and buy tomorrow , [MENTION=9789]DieGrootHammer[/MENTION] can I come over and watch you pop your cherry, I will bring beers.

If you guys do 2 afterwards Maybe I can join in on ng+ or something still need to finish the other 2 dlc's but DS3 it calls

Another thing and personally I feel it's a common error taken on by people new or starting the game. Don't come into it thinking it's a game about difficulties and death. This is not the case. The game is as difficult as you make it to be. Death is a part of the mechanics, don't get frustrated by it and instead learn from it. You never die from something the game did to you, but more because of an error in your ways (tactics). The game is challenging but fair. Adapt, learn and persevere. The game is very rewarding.

In other words, this isn't a hack and slash getting cocky gets you dead :D, damn I love the series.

Also I fully agree and the mechanics and lore.

If you have the right mindset and can laugh at yourself because you expect to die it helps ;), also disclaimer this is the only series I have ever played where I find myself shaking from adrenalin and realised I stopped breathing at some point in a boss battle, enough threadjacking for me savour the experience to those who have never delved into the dark
