Windows 10 keeps defaulting application associations

its something i have noticed recently, everytime theres an update (which is a fckn lot in my opinion) 10 keeps losing or defaulting file associations to its default shitty apps. i prever vlc for videos so it constantly reverts to its default player after i set it everytime. same applies with jpegs and pdf's. is it a general bug in the os ? or am i the only one experiencing these issues.

Its frikking annoying! our school pc's do it despite our best efforts and serious scrutinizing of Group Policies. We REALLY need chrome to be default. I've manually gone through each machine, We've even added the chrome admx policies stuff...but no, when it feels like it (not updates, we block it coz the "LAN" upgrade doesnt work, each one individually goes and gets updates from MS totally destroying the bandwidth) it just pops back to edge being default..

It's not even consistent! it just slowly starts happening, a few machines at a time.

upgraded via the annoying notification bar upgraded option, then i couldnt get forza to download from the appstore so then upon Eugene's advice i grabbed the latest iso from the interwebs and ran a windows 10 upgrade on windows 10 (sounds confusing but its not) so that i have the latest system files in order to run forza (which worked, i can now download forza from the appstore) but the associations is the only problem i have at the moment.

there's your problem

the upgrades are FUBAR. as time goes on they just completely start to melt down.

Do a clean install. will fix all your problems.

[MENTION=82]Dohc-WP[/MENTION] do anything else change I know my laptop and desktop kept syncing and my defaults would go to defaults since I did not have the same programmes installed on my laptop and desktop only after turning of the syncing it kept my programs as default.

just the app defaults thats an issue.
