This is another subject of which I have had numerous debates about to countless of people.

Wired vs Wireless Peripherals

Personally I have ALWAYS used wired on my Computer. I like to know that when I game, I will not be interrupted. Whether that is in a competitive match or busy with the last boss on a level.
I guess that i why I do not play much on my Xbox anymore. Having the controller vibrate (Wasting more Battery) to let me know the battery is low is a message I dread while being in the lead in my Forza Campaign Race. I would rather get a long ass USB cable and permanently play with that. But then again, Long Cable +Wife, Kid, Dogs= Console on the floor.

If you do use wireless peripherals at your PC, why do you have wireless? Do you sit on the couch and play on your pc using your couch as a mouse pad?

What do you think?

It's simple, wireless have batteries that need to be recharged and age over time. ~10m for most wireless tech is perfectly fine, until the batteries start getting low. Also, depending on the type of wireless implementation (read older bluetooth and sub GHz wireless) the input lag can be noticeable and interference can be rife.

I said CAN, because it really depends on a number of factors. Personally I prefer my keyboard and mice to have wires. I'm quite happy with the wireless XBox controller and its response times.

Apart from the fact that wireless devices can potentially run dry mid game, I don't like the fact that they take batteries. I mean sure I understand that they have to in order to be powered, but I don't like the extra weight that comes with it. Specifically referring to mouses (mice) here.

Also, am I mistaken in saying that overall, as a broad sweeping statement, wireless peripherals are on average more expensive than their wired brethren? Previous wireless mice and keyboards I've used works well within a corporate environment, where my desk is already cluttered by papers and notes and stuff. But at home, wired peripherals are perfectly fine, as my home equipment cannot be bought with the company credit cards (without me getting into trouble)

Naa, I like a heavy mouse though. What pissed me off is when they don't use AA or AAA NiMH batteries or use a charging cradle. What also pisses me off is that some just don't work when charging.

The Logitech G700S seems to address all if not most of these issues in that it uses AA NiMH batteries and uses a micro-USB cable for charging.

I keep a Bluetooth mouse + mini keyboard in my laptop bag, everything else is wired and connected to by docking station.

I hate touchpads and laptop keyboards

I maybe wrong but with modern controllers like the Xbox one and ps4 controllers, they are only wireless. You can get a USB charge cable but they only charge the controller and the device still uses wireless to communicate.

Still works great though.

I use controllers for the lego series games,or fifa so a second player can jump in easily. also used them to play Far Cry3 on my TV.
Far Cry 3 worked great with a controller, it was the first shooter game I played entirely with a controller it worked great.

I wouldn't use it in a multiplayer shooter, although I did try it whilst flying in BF4 and it was quite fun but going 1v1 against a mouse/keyboard you shouldn't expect to come off victorious.

Even me. Wireless mouse and keyboard at all times in the laptop bag. If I have to work on a laptop with its track pad and keyboard I go crazy.

Its that "soft touch" no-feedback of the laptop keyboard that drives me apeshit. I want to press the button and feel it being pressed. I want to hear the click, I want resistance.

Try using your smartphone with vibrate and sound on keypress turned off, that confuses the shit out of me.

nope, I use a Steelseries Z-Board

Yes, it's one keyboard with "skinnable" keys.

Iv always been a fan of wireless... I hate cables...

With the PS4 i have 2 controllers, when the one gets very low i just pause the game and sway it with a fully charged one and put that one onto charge.

With my Mice i find that in general the batteries last AGES... But i do also always have a spare new pack of batteries in my laptop bag...

yup, but it's the same ones they use on the Apex 350 currently, so rather responsive almost feels mechanical. Has NKRO that some more recent gaming keyboards can't even beat. The only negative thing of this keyboard is that the built in USB hub is USB 1.1 although the keyboard is USB 2.0. I'll likely replace it with a SteelSeries Apex something or another IF and when it dies. Else it will be a Logitech G710 or better.

Do you use the Keyboards USB ports at all? I have never used mine. The Mechanical Apex looks amazing. Since I have gone mechanical I will never go back. But I think that is just mainly because of the anti Ghosting from mechanical keyboards that I am used to

Anti-Ghosting and N-key roll over (NKRO) is NOT mechanical keyboard specific, but it's mostly found on "gaming" keyboards. I would love to use the keyboards USB ports if they were USB2.0...for like plugging in a flash drive as and when I feel like it.

True, but only expensive Dome Keyboards have 2KRO where as almost all mechanical keyboards have 6KRO

Depends on the situation more than anything.

The pc attached to my tv uses wireless (Rii Mini for remote and wireless keyboard/mouse for more serious work/play) as I sit around 3 meters away, my workstation is wired.
