Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 Founders Edition South African prices revealed

R9k for the founders, so the "normal" one should be a bit less, if so, then I'd love to pre-order mine already! Not interested in FE

Sadly, not if we see the same pattern as with the 1080. Oddly, the FE cards turned out to be cheaper in South Africa.

I think it is too early to call yet, even for the 1080. Stock is hard to get so you still have to pay premium prices.
With the local online retailers I checked, nowhere could you just drop one into your cart. It's listed as either "out of stock", "enquire", "pre-order" or "contact for availability".
Also, there are not a lot of non-founders edition cards listed yet and those that are have words like "extreme" and "gaming" in the title. And them be $$$ words.

For example, the cheapest card I could find (EVGA FE, Rebeltech for R12999 *Out of Stock/Enquire*) doesn't even have any non-FE cards from the same brand listed anywhere locally to make a comparison with.

So, at 15:10 I visit Rebeltech and there they are.
It's uncanny. It's almost like you KNEW it would be there.
Like... like you had inside info!!!

Stock is indeed a problem at the moment, could be due to high demand?

At the moment im using my onboard gfx until some retailers are getting stock. Or maybe it's a sign to rather wait for the Radeon's to arrive here

I have no onboard :) Luckily a guy at work is keen to buy my current card so hopefully he's still keen in 2 weeks :)
